It's been legal for women to go topless anywhere in Ontario for about 10 years now. Nobody does though. You'd think that would bother me, but the only types that do are 60+ and obese.

Boobs are legal in Eugene too.

I lived in LA in the mid seventies when Venice Beach was a nude optional beach. It had been that way for THREE DECADES post WWII, with ZERO fucking problem.

Maybe a third of the people went nude and the rest didn't. It was no big whoop, and nobody bothered anyone else.

Then, somehow, it got on the local network news. Uh oh. All the suburban Republican assholes in the Valley got up in arms. The Venice city council met and voted to continue allowing it. THEN the asshole poltical pressure started coming in tsunami sized waves.

All the repressed League of Decency suburban social conservatives poured on the outrage at something that had been happening for thirty years just a few miles away without incident.

The assholes won and it was outlawed. LAPD patrolled the beaches and busted people until the practice was wiped out. I watched them do it.

In the week it was still legal but now known, I also watched the asshole Republican husbands of the asshole, brain-dead Valley wives flock to the beach in suits on their lunch break and leer.

I was witness to a truly sad social and political circus, one real life, real time lesson in social conservative bullying . . . fear and ignorance-based fascism and hypocrisy in action.

Today, egged on by cyncial, pandering right-wing politicians, the fear based drones are enjoying their heyday on the national stage.

Fuck them. They are an embarrassment to America.

You've got to be kidding. What's wrong with a little skin? There are men with far larger boobs than some women.

Perknose, I think the Valley has changed quite a bit since the 1970's. It seems as if all the conservatives have moved out to Simi Valley/Santa Clarita. Medical Marijuana dispensaries at every corner, strip clubs, massage parlors getting busted for happy endings, public weed smoking, etc., seems to be the norm these days. Venice will always be the ultra-liberal haven, though. In my opinion, the overpolicing there has quelled some of the open liberalism, though.
