If you knew anything about me or most other gay people you wouldn't say shit like that. This has nothing to do with rubbing it in people's faces and everything to do with providing a safe place for others to take the first step. You've thankfully never had to live two lives at the same time and constantly hide who you are for fear of judgment/violence/hatred, but you would likely be more sympathetic if you realized what it's like to grow up gay in this country.

I've never been even gay-curious but I dont see what the big fuss is either way. It isnt my business who somebody decides to do the deed with. I have my own personal beliefs, but it isnt my place (or any other human's) place to judge.

I will say that I dont like it when a person who is gay really flaunts it and gets obnoxious about it. Yeah, that bugs me. But just because I think they're being tools, it's really irrelevant to their sexuality.

no one is "pushing anything out onto the world." It's merely a movement to allow those who remain hidden--because of fear, shame, cultural stigma, whatever, to realize that life may not be so bad when you simply accept who you are and realize there is a wide community that supports you. People are far more tolerant these days, despite the lingering bigots.

Last week I was at a crosswalk with my boyfriend and someone said to me "hey what are you looking at you fucking lovely human?" I said "uh.. what are you talking about?" and he said "I hope you get AIDS and die."

So yeah.. it's not pretty out there. That isn't *that* common but it happens every few weeks or so. I'm not much for confrontation and this dude looked really unstable so I just walked away.

First off my question is this. Is it really a problem? Look, theres asshats everywhere. White, black, funny hair, gay....whatever. Theres people out there that will always make fun of that which is different.

But is it really a problem? I honestly dont know.
