Hmmmmm.... I wonder if that's why my internet connection seems incredibly slow this morning, with many pages not loading. C3 isn't much to worry about though. I wish I had known sooner, I'd have gotten up before dawn to see if the Aurora was visible from my location. If it's visible tonight, I'll see it - looks like clear skies today.
<mod shoes> Oh, and OP was warned about posting nothing here except links to his own ufo blog site, as recently as a week ago. Since it's an interesting topic, I'm leaving the thread unlocked & other links have been given in the thread. If the OP "behaves", maybe in a few months, we'll uncensor his site. -Admin DrPizza

Is this why my favorite FM channel has been staticky the last couple of days?
Yeah, that'd really seriously suck. There is no perhaps about it. An extremely large geomagnetic storm could put the hurt on the western world in unimaginable ways. Our entire electronic infrastructure could be wiped out.
But that doesn't seem to be the case with this one, so I agree. I wish I was in Oregon, might get a nice light show.
No, you're thinking of croutonorons. They turn anything they hit into a crispy, brittle substance. Will the neutrinos have an affect on the earths core. Will the land mass be shifting as well?
Yeah, I'd love to see them too. The last time there was something like this with low-latitude aurora activity, it was cloudy. Looking at the satellite map here.......not looking good for tonight. And looking outside right now - heavy downpour. So, looking at spaceweather.com and NOAA's solar weather pages - I am still having a hard time determining the exact answer to the one question I have. Well, I had two questions, but one has been answered.
1) Q: Is everything we know going to be destroyed?
---A: Sadly, no.
2) Q: Will Southern Michigan/Northern Ohio be treated to the aurora?
---A: ???
It appears tonight, if anything, we have the best chance in a long time. Anyone think it might just be possible?
I might actually kill just to see the aurora once in my lifetime.
is that why my power went out this morning?
science lol
So what was it that recently made you snap? You didn't always act like a stereotypical troll, but recently you've really made every effort possible to blend in with the troll crowd.
The same could be said of you. Every time you try to argue one my valid points I laugh out loud. I wonder to myself, "Is destrekor trolling or what?"
Also, this scientific prediction or estimation of said event is also laughable as I think it is grossly exaggerated and highly questionable. The sky isnt falling. We will all be fine.
science lol
Science makes the internet possible, well science and Al Gore... Shouldn't you be fondling children in a church somewhere instead of using the science based interweb? In fact wtf are you doing using electricity period? Get the fuck out you poser.
<cue troll>
I don't believe there was anything that happened on the sun. How could they tell? The sun is too bright. If you look at it, you'd go blind before you saw some sort of explosion. These people are just saying that there's a solar storm coming because that's what gets them funded. It's all natural variation. 😛

So will I be able to see some Aurora's tonight in CA?
