Maybe it was going by past searches? Something you need to tell everyone?

I don't use google typically. They have virtually nothing on me. I use their image search(!i on DuckDuckGo) for particularly arcane material(martian drinking fountain qualifies) since their index seems to have wider range. It's interesting that segregated fountains are somehow connected. I'd like to know how.

Well I searched the same phrase in Yahoo and got golden shower pics so I withdraw my previous search hypothesis.....

Portal to hell or Prothean beacon?

Whatever it will be, it will be underwhelming. Likely clarification on something we already knew, like more evidence of flowing water in the past. Be cool if it was evidence of life. That would be a huge game changer. But I seriously doubt it.

Yeah, I hate to be cynical, but the last couple of NASA press conference like this have been disappointing. Very underwhelming.

"Underwhelming" is an understatement, because we have strong indication for flowing water on Mars for a long time already. I remember this debate where they analyzed images with those outflows and said "looks like flowing water is a likelihood". So I really don't know what's exactly new there...

They STILL haven't done one single *conclusive* experiment for life/organics, correct me if I am wrong...despite a number of recent probes landers, drilling and whatnot.

Exactly. I have been following these sorts of things for 30+ years and I can even remember hearing news in the late 70s of water on Mars. I think everyone who has followed stories about Mars pretty much expected this news.

uh, confirmation? We can finally say "there is water on mars [sometimes]" instead of "there may be water on mars", which evidently we've been saying for the past 30 years.

well, it's a very important find. but somehow i am not amazed. i woul dhonestly be more surprised if there was no water at all; why wouldn't there be water there.

OK! We are going to have extract water from Perchlorate Acid at under 10C in a comparable Atmosphere density of Earth.

Sounds like Fracking Earth for Oil and build O3 reactors.

We have already contaminated Mars.

Can we afford this when 3/4r's of our being is living in fear and poverty?

WATER,,,,Bit of a let down.
The ark from Raiders or perhaps flight 19 would have been mind blowing.
