Narcos Netflix original series

how many original shows does Netflix have now? Seems like they are coming out with something new every week

Watched the first two episodes tonight. I liked it. It plays more like a mini-series but it's really well done.

Watched the first ep yesterday. Good show with one annoyance; it's heavily subtitled. I like to websurf while watching TV. Unless you speak Spanish this show demands your primary attention.

Watching the second episode right now. I certainly hope they show how much Escobar bought the love of the poor. He was a hero to the poor. He build soccer fields and even played games with the national team (who were afraid for their lives).

I think more shows should "demand your primary attention", the way I see it they keep making greater quantities of less thought provoking TV because they know half the audience is doing something else at the same time.

If I feel the urge to browse the Internets when watching a TV show I'd turn the show off, the show is clearly failing to entertain so no point in enduring mediocre TV and degrading my browsing experience.

Yeah I don't multitask that way either. It feels like it detracts from both (or all) experiences. I'd rather focus on what I'm doing.

I watched a bit more and I feel like they are really skipping how just how big a deal Pablo Escobar was in Columbia. I think they are really being generous with just how the government reacted to Pablo's demands and how hard they were really looking for him.

So, I finished the series and this is a American hack job. They are trying to write some revisionist history in concern to how the government actually handled the situation and just how zealous the US DEA was about catching him.

The final episode is a complete joke. Pablo got wind of the storm on the prison well before they showed up and was nowhere to be found when they did get there. The vigilante force was funded by both congressmen AND Cali cartel and was nearly as bloody as Escobar himself.

As a drama, it was okay, but as any historical significance, it was terrible. A far better look at Columbia and the aftermath of Escobar would be The Two Escobars. It is about soccer, but that was such a huge identity for the people of Columbia, the fact it wasn't even mentioned beyond passing in this show is rather ridiculous.

More shows should demand my primary attention. Unfortunately, few attain that lofty goal. Breaking Bad did. So did Sons of Anarchy. Better Call Saul does as well. This show hasn't achieved that goal yet and I'm not sure it will.
