What was up with that? At first, I thought it was supposed to be misspelled, but since he met her online, it doesn't really make any sense that he wouldn't know how to spell her name.

It was a misspelling for the movie. This movie wasn't about details ..lol ;)

i just figured that was her online name

Look around on IMDB a little bit and find this!

Believe it or not... from Left to Right: Pedro, Kip, Uncle Rico, Naploeon, Director.

hhhhwwwwwhhhaaattt?!?!

You didn't know any Dungeons and Dragons geeks?

Obviously it was a very exaggerated depiction, but I definitely knew some people who Napoleon reminded me of. If you've seen the movie Stand By Me, the identical twins in the crowd who yell at lardass went to HS with me. They were very much like Napoleon except they were actually smart. Completely socially inept, but one scored 1600 on his SAT's and the other scored like 1580.

No. All the intelligent kids at my school (at least in my graduating class) had social skills. As I said, my high school experience was the complete opposite of the one portrayed. Even the kid with DS in our class had social skills that were exponentially higher than Napoleon.

OK. I thought every HS had a couple of Napoleon's.

Mentioning the twin geeks above, I was curious and googled one of them. He got a BA degree in Physics and English(summa cum laude), then an MA in math from Berkeley, then a PhD in English literature from Michigan. He's now a professor of English literature and teaches Shakespeare and medieval literature. You don't find too many people who are genius level on both the math and science and the verbal/reading sides.

one of the funniest movies of the year, by far the best in the 'teen' genre if you want to put it there.

If you can't remember your highschool days or you dont understand American culture maybe you didn't get it. I think you also have to be self-aware to get the most out of it. The movie is character-driven and if you can't relate people you know in real life to the characters then you probably wont think it's funny.

My high school days were the antithesis of this movie's depiction. In fact, I don't know anyone who experienced anything remotely similar to that.

agreed. and if this reminds someone of their highschool days, i really ... REALLY feel sorry for you.

what are you talking about? Highschool was/is awesome. There are so many different types of people in high school that it's fun just to observe them all.

one of the best movies i have seen in years. notice something? no sex, no cussing, just characters.

i also noticed the movie had no plot, no substance, just a way to waste 90 minutes of my life i want back.

no plot? do you know what a plot is? It's not like the movie was just the camera locked on napoleans face for 90 min straight, stuff happened.

I second that...

I watched it the first time it was dumb because I was looking for plot to it, and it was just stupid throughout, so the second time I got past the fact that I knew it didn't have any plot, that's when the jokes became funny.

I loved it! :D

Guy: Hey Naploean, what did you do over summer again?
Napolean: I already told you, I was in Alaska with my uncle hunting wolverines!
Guy: Did you shoot any?
Napolean: Yeah like 50 of them! They kept attacking my cousin, what would YOU do in a situation like that?
Guy: What kind of gun did you use?
Napolean: A frickin 12 guage, what do you think!

Deb: What are you drawing?
Napoleon Dynamite: A liger.
Deb: What's a liger?
Napoleon Dynamite: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.

I hated this movie.
I hated high school as well.

I can't comprehend why people like this movie. A few funny parts and that's it. It is just too stupid of a movie.

Movie was bad. so bad in fact, that even though I watched the entire thing I don't remember how it ended and have no intention of finding out.
