It's not a good movie at all. It's not funny and the first 45-minutes drags along. It looks like a HS film project. Bad writing, bad acting, bad cinematography. It took me 3-sitting to get through the whole movie.
I swear I didn't laugh at this movie once!
Why do people like this? I read if you grew up in Idaho or Utah you got this movie?
I didn't, I grew up in the inner city of California. I don't get this movie at all nad I don;t see how it can be considered a "cult" hit.
It's total crap!

What was up with that? At first, I thought it was supposed to be misspelled, but since he met her online, it doesn't really make any sense that he wouldn't know how to spell her name.

one of the funniest movies of the year, by far the best in the 'teen' genre if you want to put it there.
If you can't remember your highschool days or you dont understand American culture maybe you didn't get it. I think you also have to be self-aware to get the most out of it. The movie is character-driven and if you can't relate people you know in real life to the characters then you probably wont think it's funny.

My high school days were the antithesis of this movie's depiction. In fact, I don't know anyone who experienced anything remotely similar to that.

Obviously it was a very exaggerated depiction, but I definitely knew some people who Napoleon reminded me of. If you've seen the movie Stand By Me, the identical twins in the crowd who yell at lardass went to HS with me. They were very much like Napoleon except they were actually smart. Completely socially inept, but one scored 1600 on his SAT's and the other scored like 1580.
