Dude, calm down. Just accept the fact that you are closed minded and have no taste in movies. Movies don't HAVE to have a strong narrative. In fact, a lot of good movies are forsaking narratives for characterization, random humor, strong themes, or even symbolism (Hero). This may annoy you, but that's just you, the moron who can't deal with MODERN (postmodern?) STORYTELLING (entertainment, no story).

lol DUDE just accept the fact that my opinion isn't the same as the majority of ATOT when it comes to this movie. calm down.

and btw, hero sucked ass as well.

No, your opinion doesn't agree with modern culture. You're stuck with a ignorant sense of a aesthetics. Go watch friends, or a law and order re-run.

you probably are one of those people who can only like doom3 or half life 2, but not both. or can only like xbox or ps2, not both.

and let me guess, you probably love the movie Donnie Darko as well don't you?

No, you just don't get modern storytelling. There doesn't have to be a strong narrative to have meaning, humor, or entertainment value.

You're wrong about every assumption, by the way. So go back and watch friends.

so what was the story then? i don't consider following an ATOT member around for a week or so and having nothing happen much of a story.

all the movie is is dry stupid humor, i guess none of which i can relate to, but apparently you can relate to napolean quite well. i feel sorry for you :(. i must have hit a nerve with you, you are taking my dislike to this movie very personal.

again, its an OPINION

What you don't get is that THERE DOESN'T NEED TO BE A STORY! It's hard to impress people with stories nowadays because almost every story has already been done to death. Solution? Make a movie/tv show/Book without a traditional story. This is why the sitcom/novel/situation comedy are all dying. Did you see Jackass the Movie and say, "WTF??? where was the story?"

Is this movie just as stupid as Freddy Got Finger? I only managed to watch like 20 minutes of Freddy before I turned the channel on the dish. Based on the TV commericial of Napolean Dynamite DVD, I feel it ranks as just as low.

i would say its just as bad. i have seen that movie in whole as well, they are both equally as sucky.

I don't get what type of people find this so called humour in these movies funny? At the same time, I don't like Seinfeld or Friends. I enjoy more the Frasier kind of humour.

As for ND, I'll wait for it to come on PPV on the dish and see if I can get past the 20 minute point.

This movie was POORLY edited... I think thats the real problem here. It sems like the director had too little of a complex story to work with, and had to spend about 30 minuets introducing the characters. The movie did have GREAT actiing, and I did enjoy the part where Kip ran over the plastic bowl. But some parts in the movie should have been edited out. Also one thing that really bothered me was the lack of sound, though it did have some background sound sometimes, durring those awkward moments, they would hardly use proper background music making them even longer, and obnoxious. This movie could have been alot shorter, and maybe if I get really bored this summer, I'll re-edit it for my self and make it better.

eelw, DON'T listen to purbeast0. The level of humor is totally different. Freddy Got Fingered is low brow toilet-humor. Napoleon Dynamite is not. In fact, you won't find a single swear word in it.

purbeast0, I haven't seen this particular movie, or even a preview of it but your feelings towards it mirror my own regarding Kill Bill. All I heard on these forums and elsewhere was what a great movie Kill Bill was blah blah. I rented it from Blockbuster and I couldn't believe the sh!t extravaganza on my screen was the same movie that received rave reviews.

Thus, I will not pass judgement on your assesment. ;)

I laughed so hard at this movie- have you ever been to Idaho? I grew up across the border, spent
vacations there, and people are actually like this. The movie captured rural Idaho to a 'T'

:D

I've actually seen a liger in Korea.
According to the tour guide, ligers can't reproduce because the males are shooting blank. The tour guide didn't say anything about magic skills, though :p

I just watched this one a couple days ago, and I loved it. I grew up in rural Ohio town, and knew/know people like all those characters.

Yea I just saw it myself. It is one of the worst movies I've ever seen and man I've seen some really bad ones. You'd think with the characters it'd be at least decent but nope...it was very poorly done. The ending was also freaking joke...damn I want my hour and a half back . :(
