Bill Hicks
Steven Wright
George Carlin
Louis CK
Richard Pryor

I feel like Rodney Dangerfield should be in there, but I don't know who to cut.

My real top 5:

* George Carlin. Had me cracking up as a child listening to his skits on Dr. Demento.
* Steven Wright. Absolutely brilliant comic.
* Bill Hicks. His little sketch about music and drugs is hilarious, too bad he ended life short.
* David Chappelle. His skits are probably more funny than his standup routine though.
* Robin Williams. Classic stand up routine from back in the day still has me crack up when watching it.

Mitch Hedberg -

"I threw a toothpick back in the forest and yelled "YOU'RE HOME"

baaaaaahahahahahahahhaha

The thing about Hedberg is his jokes are funny, no doubt, but it is his delivery that kills it; the accent (if it's an accent) and the timing. So awesome. :awe:

"I bought some Ritz crackers. On the box, there were pictures of suggestions of how to eat the Ritz crackers. Hey man, if I wanted to buy some tiny little plates, I wouldn't have bought these Ritz crackers. I wanted some crackers."

😀

Anyone stupid enough to put Jeff Dunham as their #1 has no right to write a statement like that. Your opinions on comedy are as dumb and uninformed as your opinions on religion.

They were neither in particular order nor an expression of who is the best. It was a question of who I liked most, and those were the 5 I have enjoyed over the years the most. I have yet to see one person on the forum disagree with the majority of my thoughts on religion, even Nik.

Oh yeah, forgot Patton. I love Patton.

The general or the tubby nerd?

I'm gonna do my top 5 Daves in comedy:
1) Dave Attell
2) Dave Chappelle
3) David Cross
4) David Allen Grier
5) Here it's a 3-way tie between Larry David, David Spade and Super Dave

I agree with Hedberg, Carlin, and a few that other people have mentioned. In my quick browse I didn't see anybody mention Ron White, but he has some good stuff.

There is only one:
1) Bill Hicks

Honarable mention:
5) Chris Rock
5) Kinison
5) Bill Cosby (child friendly and the Csoby Show rocked!)
5) Lenny Bruce
5) Johny Carson

I have trouble picking a top 5, but I guess I'll go with:

Steven Wright
Eddie Izzard
Louis CK
Bill Hicks
Bill Cosby -- from back in the day

Tough to leave George Carlin off that list.

The three ALL TIME genuine, on the spot, improv Riff Masters, guys who could go out there without a script and rip it the fuck up:

Richard Pryor
Jonathan Winters
Robin Williams

I also feel that in any discussion of American comedy, someone should give a shout out to Robert Klein, so I will.

Actually, since you try to tie evolution (or rather, the lack of it) into your religion, you're also a fucking liar. And I've seen a lot of people disagree with your thoughts on religion as well. Of course, you just ignore that, like you do anything that questions your religion.

And Frank Caliendo? I know they probably saw your #1 ranking and wanted to comment on it, but Frank Caliendo? WTF? Hell, since you misspelled his name, I Googled just to be sure, because even as lacking in intelligence as you are, I gave you the benefit of the doubt. Then again, as the other person posted, I should have known better based on your prior posting.

1. Never tied evolution to religion. Atheists are the ones that always do that.
2. Never lied.
3. Define my thoughts on religion, because clearly you haven't been paying attention.
4. Misspelling an uncommon name somehow shows a lack of intelligence? Your insults are pretty weak.
