Name one major game you didn't enjoy!

I found Crysis overhyped despite all the rave reviews it got. I really didn't enjoy it all that much.

I finally picked up Stalker the other day, played it for about 15 minutes and doubt i'll go back to it. Pretty crappy.

WoW would be my choice. I tried it out quite a while back and hated it.

WarCraft III. I'd never played RTS before but figured I'd give it a go. I didn't get it. The rave reviews may have set my expectations high, but I played for a few hours, and got really bored.

I didn't try the genre again until LOTR BFME II, which I loved, and have since tried out a few RTS, though I'm still not very good at them.

And to a very small degree, BioShock. I really enjoyed the game, but the string of 10/10 reviews that led up to its release and number of people talking about it being "art" or "redefining the genre" I think were too hyped. Still an awesome FPS.

COD4
I only play single player and i just didnt find the firefights in this one as intense or as enjoyable as the past in the series.

I hated Stalker. I've also never been big on any of the CoD's, but I haven't played CoD4 so I can't accurately say I hate it.

STALKER is the biggest one that comes to mind. Tried WoW for the trial, it was OK at best, if it didn't have a monthly fee, would have probably played it, but not for money.

But STALKER, tried it for about an hour or 2 and just didn't like the game at all.

For me? Warcraft 3 and Oblivion. I loved WC1 & WC2. WC3 was good but to me it just felt more of the same. Oblivion was kinda boring for me. After playing MMOs games like Oblivion just dont hold the appeal for me they once used to.

Edit: latest was EvE Online. Not exactly a hit among the MMOs but its gaining popularity. The big turn off for me was the difficult complexity and steep learning curve from the very start. Gorgeous graphics though. Best I've seen in a MMO yet.

I can usually tell whether I'd like a game by just looking at videos/screenshots/reviews, but a few games have majorly fooled me and had me shaking my head in confusion:

Bioshock: Despite all the raving reviews, the graphics seemed average, the story didn't capture me at all (even though I enjoyed reading Ayn Rand novels), and the gameplay was very unimpressive. I tried on two separate occasions (a couple months apart) to get through the game, and each time got bored and completely lost interest. I just don't understand what all the hype was about.

Diablo 1/2: I generally don't like RPGs but after the absurd amount of hype and good reviews, I gave them a shot. In both games, after just 30 minutes in, I was laughing my ass off at how lame these games were. Again, the graphics were nothing special, the story was lame and the gameplay. Oh man, the gameplay was embarrassingly bad. I honestly could not believe that there was nothing more to the game than clicking your way to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Halo 3: I had never played any of the Halo games, so I was excited at the chance to try this one out when one of my housemates got an xbox 360. The critics had been in a frenzy over all 3 halo games - giving them some of the highest reviews i've ever seen - so I really expected something great. What I saw instead was... just... really... really... average. In fact, compared to some of the other shooters out on the PC and consoles around the same time - such as crysis, CoD4, GoW and many others - Halo 3 looked incredibly unimpressive. The graphics were reasonable, although I hated the ridiculously colorful and plasticky look of everything. The gameplay was incredibly standard, with nothing whatsoever to set it apart from any other game, except all the weapons sound like pee shooters. The story and enemies were laughable at best. I honestly see no redeeming value in the game at all.

I'm sure there have been others, but these are the first few to come to mind...

Probably Diablo 2. I played almost all the way through, then finally decided to quit playing because I really wasn't enjoying it.

Lately, Crysis takes the cake. It's not a terrible game, but it was realy sub-par for a FPS.

Diablo II (can't really understand what is so exciting about going around and mind-numbingly clicking enemies endlessly)
Oblivion (amazing graphics and awesome world but gameplay was non-existent)
Command and Conquer 3 (managed to get through the SP campaign and didn't pick it up again for 6 months - sold it shortly thereafter)
any of the Halo games (dull and uninspired, there are far better FPS's than Halo...)
