like the title says, can anyone name me a thought-provoking/'emotionally' powerful movie? I really enjoy a really good, deep movie. Something that leaves you for the next few days in a state of awe over what you just watched. To name a few movies I was that way with:
Butterfly Effect
Requiem for a Dream
I was in awe from:
The Punisher
Constantine
The entire Band of Brothers series
The Pianist
What puts me in that state of awe is not the action, thats not a required part, but the power and depth of the storyline. If its not performed well, I wont get anything from it either. A-class movies in terms of acting abilities is usually a prerequisite. But yea, its usually an already-powerful subject matter (as is the case of The Pianist, Band of Brothers, and Requiem for a Dream.. Constantine can be said to be powerful in those terms as well due to the religious/hell theme.).
So there it is, what I am looking for. Anyone have any ideas? Till then I am gonna watch War of the Worlds as its just a kickass movie.![]()
THE PUNISHER?????
WTH ARE YOU SMOKING????
nothing at the moment, come back later for some salvia
again, it wasn't necessarily a thought-provoking movie, as it was more of an awe-struck type of movie for me. I thought it was delivered perfectly and I am a violence-whore. All the action in the movie made it even better, but I thought the self-vigilantism was actually great. Acting was believeable and just felt like it was put together and delivered quite cleanly.
