LFMAO - Yes, I like that song. Downloaded.

Who are you talking to?

Nkgreen, who posted the song ...

Artist: LMFAO
Song: Yes

:music:
They give me hugs and lots of kisses
And they ask me what my wish is
I say go and call your bitches
Cause there's gonna be a party
Next they wash my body as a team
And then the say "Foo your royal penis is clean"
:music:

You gotta love the Coming to America reference.

A lot of the Pennywise songs are good, but they blend together after a while.

True....but you can do do so many different things in that genre before everyone says you sold out. As a result, to stay "true" to that genre, you have to essentially do the saem thing over and over again.

Kids is a better song. That student video for it is great. Weekend Wars is also great. They suck live though. Just horrible. Kinda flat and lifeless.

all by kings of leon. thanks me later.

Their older stuff is much better. Knocked Up/On Call/California Waiting/Taper Jean Girl/The Bucket... I could go on for a while. Their latest album is... cliche but true ... overproduced, and a desperate attempt at mainstream acceptance. They lost their edge with this one.

I could write a dissertation on underappreciated songs, but it would take days. Hundreds of bands you probably havent heard of, from dozens of genres.

Right now, for no particular reason, I am listening to Phoenix's - Wolgang Amadeus Phoenix, especially 1901 and Lizstomania, and an almost unknown band called The Delta Spirit - Ode to Sunshine. I really like People C'Mon & Children (Live @ SXSW) is a fantastic, slow-grower song. Gets better with every listen.

Superdrag - Sucked Out

Superdrag (Knoxville TN) has reformed after a long hiatus. - Destination Ursa Major is also a great song from that record. I like a lot of Air songs, including Kelly Watch the Stars, but the best thing they have done so far is Playground Love, which is just phenomenal and timeless.

Blur - Coffee & TV and Beetlebum are both great.

All good stuff

Blur was great. And Superdrag always makes me think of Fastball, heh. They both had a little MTV success around the same time.

Along those lines, Jason Falkner writes some great melodic rock and power pop, and is freakishly talented. Plays all the instruments on his records, and is good enough that he regularly does session work for other artists on guitar/bass/keys. He plays bass on an Air album, he toured with them a few years back and played bass and did some vocals (actually he sang Playground Love at some of those shows), has done a few things with Beck, he's all over a couple Brendan Benson albums, was on one of Paul McCartney's recent albums. I really like him, too bad his own major label career went nowhere.
