I've never had a portobello mushroom

Looks like they're the same species as normal button mushrooms, but I've never eaten what's normally called a portobello (the matured agaricus bisporus)

are you sure? my sister's husband, back when they were dating, had never had anything from a pig. so my mom quietly started adding it to all kinds of meals that he would eat, without saying anything. he was pretty pissed when he found out... years later.

I'm from Missouri, so I haven't had the chance to try a lot of shellfish/seafood. Most notably, lobster, crawfish, and clams.

Dude. I'm from Missouri too, and I've had all of those things. IN MISSOURI. You can catch crawdads in the streams in MO.

Anywho, for foods I haven't tried that I'd like to: Abalone, Kimchi.

Another vote for Sushi. Not interested in trying either....although I'll probably try it one day. Who knows? Just not much a fish fan.

FYI, sushi doesn't necessarily mean fish (raw or cooked). It simply means rice roll. Even if it's just the raw fish part you don't like, there are many many rolls with cooked seafood in them. Sushi plus a bottle of Sake FTMFW.

On topic, I haven't tried octopus. I plan to though.

As far as common food I haven't had, I haven't had most sea food. This includes lobster, crab, and any type of sushi

I'd never eat the sushi with raw fish in it given most any other edible choice.

I'd never eat the sushi with raw fish in it, given any or no choice.

Thats like saying "i wont eat a hamburger with a burger on it"

I'm a southern white boy, so I know zero about Japanese culture, but I think sushi involves rice rolls of any kind and sashimi is a type of sushi with raw seafood in it.

from what my Japanese teacher told me way back when (language), rice is the more...important ingredient in sushi.

She was somewhat coo-koo though, so who knows?
