I am thinking the OP did not get the response he was looking for.

As for me:

Mission based:
Far Cry
Crysis
Serious Sam 1st and 2nd
Duke 3D
Red Faction
Some of the MoH's, like Pacific Assault
Half Life 1
Half Life 2

Online:
BF1942
Counter Strike and CS Source

Crap, forget it. Too tired to go on.

On the contrary ... EVERY response is the response I was looking for.

Quake (especially DM, TF, and CTF)
Quake 2 (CTF and DM. I liked NIQ mod too)
RTCW: Enemy Territory. (when this came out, my interest in TFC faded)
Half Life (especially TFC mod)
Duke 3D

i just realized your thread title had a typo

Not any more thanks to you. Thanks for pointing that out.

I think I am going to dust off my copies of UT 1999 and 2004 and see if I can get interested in them again. I still remember the computer voice in UT saying "Head shot!" every time I sniped someones head off.

Yeah, CoD was pretty good. UT99 is still up there, as well.

I like the SS:HD games, too. But I also reinstalled CoD. It just has this solid "feel" that really hasn't been replicated.

Counter-Strike : The Bunny Hopping and Sniper glitch days... and I still think its fun and better than anything out today...

Day of Defeat : The one shot kill KAR days (I used to just move around outside SPAWN and pick people off as they jump out of spawn... LOL)... the bayonet and rifle butting days... you used to can jump and bayonet people..

Then all the patches and new versions came out and fixed/changed all those things... still fun... -)

Day of Defeat was great!

I use to admin at the Kustom Kettle, the one that survived. Tiger was one of my fav maps, and Bleakhill

COD United Offensive is still my all time favorite WW2 FPS multiplayer.

It was the most complete WW2 experiance to date....sad that they haven't topped that (let's face it World at War wasnt' even close).

Noticed that COD series in general suffers from poor map design/strategy. Original COD maps (and UO) had great strategic spawns/flags.

For example, MW2 Domination flags are SO random. it's like someone took 3 balls, dropped them from the top of the map and marked the flags wherever they ended up.

Also, Domination should have 5 flags not 3......but current day COD map design/size doesn't allow that.

YES ACTIVISION YOU NEED BIGGER MAPS.

I have not played United Offensive for a LONG time. I'll pull out my expansion disk and install it later ...

If I wanted a simplified, dumbed-down game, I'd just be playing counter strike. I prefer games that combine FPS and RPG elements, like Stalker or Fallout 3.
