NAACP audience boos Mitt Romney's comments

So then why did you say " idea that Mitt and his policies are better for most black people than Obama really is hilarious though. Come on, let's be honest, that's nonsense and we all know it."?

If Obama is not doing anything specifically to help black people, and he should not, then why should Mitt?

Because Mitt wanting to cut social programs and further cut taxes on the rich will negatively affect those demographics in which blacks are disproportionately represented. Isn't that obvious? That's why they laughed in his face when he told them his policies and presidency would be the best for them.

I'm your average white upper middle class dude, a vote for mitt is almost certainly a vote for my economic interest. I can recognize that without deluding myself that his policies are also the best for lower income people.

Greece is not best for them. They're thinking short term if they think there will be a country left standing after socialist policies loot the place. A free and prosperous nation is best for everyone.

Of course... the joke is that Mitt is one of them. He's quite similar to Obama and would most certainly not give us a free and prosperous nation.

Just look at the audience he was speaking to, their faces tell how much they liked him from the very start...The guy on the left in particular, looks like he wanted to greet Romney with a punch to the face. While the man in the middle looks like he is more than ready to Boo him before he even speaks a word. If a white crowd were to Boo Obama it would be seen as Racist [and actually it did happen in West Virginia and yes it was called racist].

Rather ironic comments in that you're complaining about prejudice while judging people solely based on how they appear in a photograph.

Yet those same people acted out what their faces were saying via booing. Guess Romney isn't black enough for the "non-racist" NAACP..

Mitt's lukewarm attempt to woo NAACP supporters turned sour when he promised to return the country to its backward-facing path and repeal the much needed healthcare reform measures. If he was attempting to sway ethnic minorities and persons of color then this constitutes a failure. These comments underscore how out of touch this man is from the needs of the American people.

wtf, every poll out there says the american people do not want it.

Interesting how you bring up that lie-and one that has been PROVEN repeasted to be a job of deceptive editing. I guess you missed that part, eh? Your post proves an idealogue to going to hear what he wants to hear, and the truth be dereagrded.

Either YOU are the liar, or you're misinformed.

At 17:25, she states the she hasn't decided "how much help I was gonna give him". Listen for yourself, you'll hear them laughing.

And here's Breitbart's edited version.

The section I'm referring to is identical in BOTH videos.

I'll just await your apology, shall I?

So repealing a tax increase on the poor and lower middle class (ACA) is considered to be bad for the poor and lower middle class? 😕

Context is everything here, sure she probably had personal animosity about the the farmers in question however if you listen to the entire story it's clear that Breitbart's edited version distorts the intention of her narrative.

She is describing how one can put aside their prejudices and do their job.

Furthermore the wife of this person that Sherod helps was interviewed around the time this was a controversy. She had very kind things to say about Shirley Sherod, because she actually did her job and helped them.

People don't want the mandate... they like most of the individual parts.

Sorry, I don't buy that people who boo Obama are automatically racist, and I don't buy it here either. Plus, from what I've read, Romney was actually received quite politely there except for that one line.

You're doing a great job of showing that someone is a racist here, but it ain't anyone at the NAACP.

We both know that's a weasel. ACA is an improvement for the vast majority of lower income people, who are disproportionately uninsured. Besides, the last person in the world who should be talking about repealing the ACA is Romney anyway. Deep down he's probably proud that Romneycare was the model for it, but he can't admit that for obvious reasons.

Nooo, another $1,000,000,000,000 is what we need. All the best economists in the world were wrong last time. We just need to spend more money we don't have....

Money to our own people is TREASON. 3x that amount for wars while cutting taxes for the rich. PATRIOTIC!

I believe that is very true. That is why I am voting for Mr. Romney. He has the skill sets to get this nation back to work again. Then maybe the people will have a job and be able to afford health care.

To paraphrase Allen West, "The Safety Net is not meant to be a hammock."

I am not quite sure of what skill sets you are referring to. From everything I have read he was only barely adequate (from the most generous sources) as a governor and Bain Capital doesn't really apply as a skill set to run the government.

Also I have never seen someone quote Allen West in a positive manner.

....and spending money we don't have has worked, how?

Taxes are too damn high. Regulations are too damn many. Spending is too damn great. As far as the entitlement class is concerned, I do believe a bit of hunger is a great motivator.

Taxes are at their lowest point in many years. Obama has proposed less new regulations than any president in many years. Spending I believe does outstrip our revenue and yes hunger is a motivator. I don't know that it applies in this situation. Does it matter how hungry you are if there isn't a job out there for you to get?

I am hoping you were being sarcastic. All the best economists in the world? From what I have read a great many of them were pushing for a large stimulus package to boost infrastructure to create jobs which pays people which goes directly back into the economy. Such a plan was supported by Nobel prize winning economist Paul Krugman. Which by definition refutes your 'all'. Truthfully most of your statements seem a bit... naive

The NAACP is no longer a civil rights organization. At this point they're just a bunch of professional whiners and shakedown artists.

I have no love for Mitt Romney but it was really classless of the audience to boo him. It's what I'd expect from the NAACP though.

Kind of like that idiot from North Carolina that jumped up during the POTUS SOTU speech yelling "You lied".

The second amendment is just as important as the first amendment.
The NRA was not founded to protect the Second Amendment; it was initially more of a shooting club inspired by the poor marksmanship of Union Army recruits in the War Between the States. Its aim was to ensure that American civilians were better prepared for future military conflicts.

Political activism was not part of their agenda until the latter decades of the Twentieth Century.
