I know some backlight bleeding is acceptable, i just dont know if mine falls in the "too much" category... Think its worth sending it back and possibly getting one thats worse?

Short Exposure

Medium Exposure

Long Exposure w/ the lights off

EDIT: its goin back. A cluster of dead/stuck pixels just cropped on near the center...

Any idea what fvking # i call? Im sick of getting transferred...

I think its normal. The black level will look worse with the lights off. LCD's are best in a bright environment. If you are sensitive to this issue, LCD that use a PVA panel have the best black levels although they still can't match CRT's.

Looks just fine to me.

Your long exposure pics are meaningless, I could do the same with my CRT (which has a contrast ratio probably 10-20x what your LCD does) & get a nice gray image.

No LCD display (at least at consumer price points) is uniformly bright, all have warm/cool spots.

Yours appears to be well within reason.

Not meaningless, i wanted to take a long exposure to test how even the backlight bleeding was, not for how bright it was.

I would take several, from different angles.

hard to tell. Can you take a picture with a movie playing in the background? I think you still get thin black stripes even though your screen is 16:9 - i could be wrong tho.

That or could you take pic of a black background with 1080x768 wallpaper (so there is black surrounding it).

Looks good to me! I've owned 4 LCDs in my time, 2 from different manufactuers that all had similar 'problems' like you have. I agree with Viper and say it's well within normal limits and if you are going to send the LCD back, do not expect to get one any better. Get a CRT instead.

none. But that's probably not going to stop you from sending it back anyways.

What did you honestly expect from the cheapest 20" widescreen out there?

There's a reason the 20" Cinema display costs what it does.
