That's the problem with a monopoly and their disregard for following standards, isn't it? You won't see things like PNG and decent CSS because Microsoft is not willing to make that happen. Even though this would benefit their customers and everyone else.

Just support for standards and security. I outlined this already.
BTW,
Here's the IE exploit of the day to test with.
Not sure that it will work on MyIE2 or not. I'd be interested to know.
Be sure to check your startup folder after you try the demo.
I got pwned by that toally. But I was asked "Do you want to create something.startup?" And I clicked No, so nothing was there. That popup was really annoying though. Let me try that in Firefox (This is win98 btw).
I don't know enough about security of each browser to actually make a posting.. if you can help, that'd be good.
In Firefox there are no red lines and nothing to drag and drop to. Have not tested any other browsers besides Firefox and IE6.
Was it MyIE2 that asked you that question? That's pretty nice if they added that in, and I have to believe they did, since my XP SP1 machine asked me exactly nothing and neither did SP2. It requires user action, but I think it shows just how easy it is to trick someone and it should NOT be possible to install a start up item without a warning. About a security post: I could spend hours posting a security assessment of IE, but many people have done this already. The problem is getting anyone to read or listen to it--and this is why I reply to threads like this. I think demo's like the one I linked speak for themself. There's of course problems like this for Windows in general, but these days it's much easier to switch a browser than an OS.
I have to say, simms, that even though we definitely have different opinions on things, I gotta respect you for at least editing the original post. It's hard to correct people just like it would be hard to correct me on something I think is great, even if it's true. It's that being human thing--sometimes it's a pain!
