Ain't no homersexuals in my family... *spits*

Now let's hit the showers.

But really, being gay makes it much more difficult to talk about your personal life around certain people.

Most people like to think that your life doesn't revolve around your sexuality, but that's not necessarily true.
People, especially family, ask personal questions.

Questions A: "So, what are you plans this weekend."
Answer A: "I'm going out with my bf and we are going to catch a movie and have dinner and sunday we are going to the zoo."

Coming from a girl, that answer would be perfectly normal.
Coming from a guy, that answer is unacceptable and a lot of people would see it as constantly reminding people that you are gay.

You could be vague with your answers, but then more questions arrive and it's a waste of your time. It's not a constant reminder that you are gay or straight or into animals or whatever. It's a constant reminder that you are human, have or want a companion, and when you have said companion, your spare time typically revolves around them.
