One of my wife's co-workers is so obviously flaming gay that when he admitted it to everyone after they all went out drinking everyone just laughed because it was so obvious. He was like, 'I've got something I need to tell you all,' and everyone fell silent because they thought he was going to reveal some dire medical problem like cancer or something.

I wonder why he thought you would have a negative reaction, you have always seemed very accepting (judging from your posts here). maybe other family members have had a negative response?

i think most people have a homosexual person in their family tree whether they want to admit it or not.

I am really, really glad that you are so OK with gay people. So wildly OK about them, in fact, that you felt it necessary to create a thread informing us of how cool you are with them.

Meh, everyone here creates a thread everytime they take a crap. Deal with it.

if their voices arent fuct up then I usually have absolutely no problem with a person being homosexual. Otherwise, I get annoyed.

I only have a problem with flamboyance. Has nothing to do with the gayness really, I dislike metrosexuals and flamboyant homosexuals equally.

AKA Fagotty gays/metros. Same here.

My Hall Director is basically a reverse-racism gay guy. He hates people for NOT being completely (and I mean completely) supportive of gay rights. And it's all he ever talks about. Everyone hates him. Even other gay people I know.

Yeah... Sorry Jon (not his real name), I don't want you raising a straight kid for the kid's sake.

Or

My wife's half brother is a KKK member!!!

i dunno, but thats worth a post for me.

Anyone else have a gay family member?

Yes, I have a gay family member.

How did you come to find out about it?

He's pretty open about it. The first time I met him was at a family gathering at my FIL's house. He and his boyfriend were there. Unfortunately they live in Texas so my wife & I don't get to see him very often at all. :(

As for my immediate family...as far as I know they're all straight but I don't really go around asking my family members which team they play for.

How did the rest of the family take the news?

I guess pretty good because he and his dad are on good terms. As for the reaction when he came out...I have no idea b/c he was alreay out when I married into the family.
