I thought i'd share what i've been doing here, I love getting feedback on what i've been doing and have begun to love discussing fitness in general.
Me: 12 weeks ago
5'9 245Lbs
Me: today
219 Lbs
I've been trying all year to lose weight, joined a gym and had been regularly going since january with little weight loss results. I worked with a trainer there and she started a bootcamp program, which I joined. I just finished my 2nd 6 week program. It's been great.
I could barely run a mile before, and now I'm running a 5k tomorrow (my last one a month ago I did in 39 minutes) and am on target to run it sub 30-minutes, which has been my goal for a long time. I ran my best mile ever today, 8:30. In general I feel healthier, fitter, and know I can keep this up. I'm looking forward to being 200 lbs, I cant remember the last time I weighed 200.
What i've done:
Eating right, logging EVERYTHING. This was the biggest factor, watching exactly what I eat, logging it all. Everything in moderation. A bottle of sweet Iced tea wont hurt me once a week. Lots more fruits and veggies, always cook dinner and ALWAYS bring leftovers to work. LOTS of water, about 100 oz a day.
Working out:
Lots more cardio, Have run 3 times a week for the past 5-6 weeks, 3 miles each time. Weights and other cardio in between. Lots of static holds, resistance bands, squats, lunges, etc.
This is no way my success story, but I feel well on my way. I'm pretty sure I can keep this momentum going and I feel like I'll be able to maintain a balanced lifestyle once I reach my goal. I'm thinking about attempting to run a half marathon mid next year.
