He was supposed to be the next DeNiro, but his personal life got in the way and he burned out super early. He kind of disappeared for 2 decades.

And he's a damn fine actor. He deserves this one more than many who have won in the past.

Slumdog will sweep, which is kind of sad. a lot of "low-rent" nominations this year 🙁 Rather mediocre year for the movies.

The Wrestler was a much better movie than Dark Knight and Rourke acted much better than Heath. Dark Knight is just another overrated fanboi movie. I'm not saying that the Wrestler was an awesome movie. It was a good movie but not that good either.

At least a straight to DVD movie won the most. So sick of ultra-mainstream garbage being awarded oscars.

Anyway, Oscars are a joke. The people giving them out are the same people taking them. It's the same as letting the gymnasts or figure skaters rate each other in the Olympics. Damn fine performance.
