Today I've finally just tried CS (thx budman for the help
).
CS DOES has better gameplay which makes the game exceptionally exciting and addicting. But as a para-military squad level combat simulation it is simply unrealistic, no where as good as R6 series.
The running and climbing speed in CS is incredibly fast, comparable to that of most action FPS games like UT. What annoy me most is frog leaping. I've seen people doing it all the way in the game to avoid fire as if playing Quake/UT. And your movement won't affect your aim at all regardless on running or crouching. I've seen people sniping from a distant while frog-leaping as if NO reticule penalty at all. Recoil has an effect in CS, but not as much as in R6 or even IGI. Gunfire sounds spectacular, way too cinematic than what a real firearm should sound. 3D sounds in CS is very cool and much more directionaly than R6 but the hearing footsteps 3 rooms away is too exaggerated. Military gear (esp those worn by special force) doesn't produce that much of sound even on running heavily. The human motion gives me cartoonish feeling. Players simply running all the way up a ladder faster than monkey, LOL.
