Then I watched different Congressional hearings on the issue...the distracting from taking your eyes of the road was the biggest gripe. If, however, that it is the case, I say no talking while driving whatsoever...no kids in the back seat asking, "Are we there yet?" ...no wives asking us how are day was...just sit there, eyes straight ahead, one hand at nine o'clock and the other at three, sitting in an upright position with the radio off, with seatbelt fastened, right leg extended with a slight bend in the knee, left thumb resting firmly on the horn, glancing at the mirrors--first the rear-view, then the side mirror--at 3 second intervals, etc, etc...why stop there: Why not legislate more laws that govern every move we make? Fact is, if you cause an accident and are responsible, you are punished...these laws are nothing more than a haphazard, ex-ante attempt to control yet another facet of our lives.
