Where did you get the IP address you are trying to look up?

Did you do the simple step of calling her?

I got the IP from her gmail account. She had the password saved on the computer.

I called/texted her. Called every number that was called/texted from her phone in the past 2 days.

She sent me an email a couple of hours ago:

im safe..... dont come looking for me.
things are better this way.
im filing for emancipation.

Maybe get the cell company to look up where her signal is, but I'm not sure how easily it will be and it will only be a general area.

Hrmm, let her file for emancipation at your parent's house?

And wtf "I'm safe, don't coming looking for me." Yeah fucking right, you're supposed to resign a 17 year old, not even legally an adult, for emancipation in someone else's house. And when shes turned in after a few nights out on the street, whose going to get fucked by over zealous prosecutors?

Tell that girl that the cops have a warrant for her, and if she knows what is good for her, to come home.

But first:

Ask her if she'll enjoy life being a coke whore for the rest of her life.

Do it. I knew several girls in high school, hell, even middle school, thought they knew it all. Now, they're on the streets for all I know.

They said they are unable to do that.

She might really be under legal protection. She might have legally thought this through, in which case, perhaps she does know what she's doing--to some extent.

How pukish did this kid look?

Get your parents to work. And why is it you and your parents just let her walk out? Especially with some puke, who just wants to molest her? Do people have any common sense AT ALL anymore?

Stories like these piss me off because shit could have been prevented, but it wasn't, because it sounds to me like you're a bunch of fucking weak pussies, and someone is going to get fucked up as a result.

Depending on state, cops can't do anything. Basically in some states she don't have to come home unless she wants too.

If you had a warrant, they could do it. All phones sold in the last few years have GPS in them.

That's the thing, sport, you don't know squat. Lol at your suburban drama queen idea of the real world.

OP, you can get a warrant, but your sis and her friend would have to eff up majorly first after not crossing too many state lines (though it's likely they haven't) to be caught.

Other than that, the police have neither the will nor the training but especially not the resources to actively look for a 17 year old who left home willingly.

I sympathize with your situation, though. Keep trying through whatever means you have to find her, just don't expect much.

Well he can't get a warrant, he could get cops to do it. Depends on state, cops might not be able to do much about it. OP should talk to a lawyer to see what his parents can legally do.

She left in her own car. How will the cops believe she was kidnapped?

What Ip do you have exactly? did she post on a forum from her location or something? Just curious.

Considering this is a kidnap I would hope the police will do what they can. Most ISPs have a lookup tool that brings up the phone number associated with an IP (assuming it's DSL).

On whos name is car registered? I am guessing your parents? If so, report car stolen.

edit:I have no clue if reporting the car stolen is legal just giving you some options.

They didn't mention this possibility because she's 17 and left willingly, and it would be just so much useless paper work from their perspective.

This is the real world. That's just the way it is. You're essentially on your own here. Good luck, anyway. If you're smart, motivated and persistent, then YOU are the best chance you have to find her.

It's not, and cops don't take kindly to twerps pulling stunts like these. And, sad to say, since they could then nail you, they would. The criminal justice system is a real cynicism builder.

At this point, I agree with Perknose. She can learn the hard way, and if she's so happy, then that's that. If someone finds her corpse tomorrow, hopefully you can point out in court that you did notify the police, and then turn the wrath of all the jerkoff prosecutors on the Police.

Wow, you're a dumbass. I feel sorry for your 17 year old daughter who you apparently attach a locator bracelet to and keep tied up in the basement.

Actually yes it is. My mom reported her car stolen when I left late one night after a fight to cool my head. I came back about 30 minutes later and there was a squad car in the driveway.

If she left in a car in your parent's name without their permission...

If the car is under her parents name, and she took it without their permission, then technically it is stolen - they can easily take it off of insurance if they wanted to. Eventually she won't be able to register/get it inspected and she'd be screwed.

FWIW -

Good luck with this. My younger sister was a huge problem child and started running away when she was 15/16. IMHO once they're to the point to realize that they can run away there's not a lot you can do to fix it.

The cops really can't do much, at least here. Once you're 17 you're legally an adult (Georgia).
