My sister is missing/left

long story short, my 17yo sister left our family this morning with some thug she met somewhere. my mom/dad/me have been nothing but good to her and provided her with everything needed to excel but she made us out to be the "evil" side.

we filed a missing persons report. i gave the cops and IP but they say they can't do better than a city. just like me.

Is it even possible to find the exact location of an ip address?

we didnt let her walk out. my mom and i werent home. my dad is handicapped and can't hold her back anyway...

she told my dad she was going to work as usual and just left.

Warrant for what? im surprised the cops we talked to didnt even mention this possiblity...

Does she have a myspace or facebook? Certainly if she does, there are going to be connections to this guy somewhere. If you dig deep enough you may turn up something.

Depends on the state. However, if your state considers her a minor still, you could put out a warrant for this guy for kidnapping.

To TehMac: The girl is old enough to just make something up so she can leave the house without suspicion. Trust me, not all of these situations are preventable or attributable directly to the parents. Sure, parents raise the children, but there's a point at which kids sometimes just make stupid decisions in order to rebel and carve out their own identity.

Depends. If you took the GED or w/e, talked to a lawyer or something, you probably could. I think you can in Florida, but I'm not sure how it is in Nanny state california, adults can't do anything anymore, except have sex. And then males get sued for molesting people.

So to answer your question, I doubt it.

And MarioK, I'm sorry for being harsh on you, I feel your situation, and am as pissed and worried as you (or you should be). I'm not being sensationalistic, merely cautious. It's possible the guy won't do any real harm, except get drunk with her, or smoke pot, or snort cocaine with her, but other than that, nothing too serious.

But yes, I would get on the cops ass for a warrant. You want to get this shit straightened out NOW, not in a fucking year when you discover her corpse in someone's fucking backyard.

Does that sound cruel? Yes, I am a giant douche head who gives a fuck what happens to people.

I have many. That is why when it came time for me to reach that age my parents gave me a great deal of independence and weren't as overprotective as you're trying to be. It is just a phase and it passes, and no matter what you do she will be a 17 year old. yeah my sister and I had different a different upbringing. I got my ass whupped anytime I fucked up and she didn't.

Maybe. Perhaps she already smokes crack, or snorts cocaine. It doesn't help the situation. Best case, OP gets his sister back, watches her, gets her some new damn friends, parents start paying more attention, sister shapes up.

It takes effort, I know, I have sort of been there, and it won't be a joy walk. But if you love your damn sister, you'll get on it.
