She hasn't really tried, because you are the man & you are supposed to make the money so she can sit at home. By the way does she keep your residence clean (assuming you two live together) or are you doing a good bulk of the household chores when you come home?

What type of logic is this based upon? The maximum income tax rate in the US is 39.6% on those filing single and making over $400K per year.

Last year I read an article that stated that Mitt Romney had "earned" $22M the previous tax year ... yet paid only $2M in tax.

Anyway Tommy I wouldn't even let the thought of her leaving you enter your mind because it'll shake up your relationship more than just the pay cut alone would. She might just be freaking out because you are freaking out. Especially if she is the stay at home type. You can both probably work together to cut expenses a bit. She seems a little high maintenance though. She has rich parents and high expectations or something I gather?
 
lol @ 10k engagement ring. My wife's was 2.5k and that was the limit. I have maybe given her a total of 10k in jewelry in our entire 15 years together. That includes a very nice diamond ring I got for her for the birth of our first child.

This is the problem with kids today. She freaks out over losing 20% of your pay but how much would she have freaked out if you had given her a $2k ring as opposed to 10k.

A lot. Based on what T2K has said in the past, the wife to be is completely wrapped up in conspicuous consumption. She needs to display her $3k purse and $10k ring, she has to have a hubby to buy her all the things she needs to prove her worth to the world. That pay cut is going to hurt her badly, she may have to make him get a second job, or find a fellow with more disposable income.

I really hope he's simply a troll, because if all the things he's posted here are true, the poor stupid little fuck is in for a lifetime of pandering to the needs of the miserable succubus he's engaged to. It's beyond tragic, the lad is completely without a spine, he's been cowed to the point of slavery. I pity his need of the creature that's sucking the life out of him, and I detest his inability to do anything to better his situation.
