Honestly I don't know what I should expect in terms of raises at this point in my career. Up til now I always thought 3% was minimum, 5% was mediocre and 7%+ would be a good.

(Fine I'll remove the numbers because people are too busy being pissed at me to answer the question)

I got +4.31% overall on a Salary/Commission ratio of 75/25... but only 2% in base salary.

Whadya think?

I'm looking at my paycheck right now and I think I hate you. Years experience? Position?

I think the percentages you list are on a curve. with the amount of money you make, 4%+ seems very reasonable to me.

Posting in brag thread?

2% is pretty standard for public companies... 4% overall is GOOD, even if you don't get bonuses.

I'm on a pay freeze for the forseeable future, so that looks pretty good to me! :D

Be thankful you got a raise. They are doing salary freezes in many organizations.

I'm thinking with the amount of unemployment and under-employment going around, oh and the news of people unable to pay for the higher gas prices, 4% is fine.

Oh also, 4% of 100K is WAY more than 4% of 30K. Just saying.

I'm an "Enterprise Engineer"... I work for a major data storage vendor, and am in a hybrid sales-technical role.. I've been doing this for about 15 years now.

I'm honestly not trying to brag... the area I live (Washington DC) in that money doesn't go as far as you'd think.

Wow... total brag thread. You didn't even TRY to cover it up. The right way is to say "I only got 2% raise" and then reveal your salary when somebody asks for it. This just seems awkward and a cry for attention.

I pitty you OP. If you're trying for so much attention here then you must not have a lot of friends/family in real life. It's kind of sad mate :(

It always amazes me to see somebody on here say they make $150k/year and state that the money doesn't go far. Makes me glad I live in KY. I'd live like a king on half that salary.

You know how it's really irritating when someone posts on, say, a sports car forum that they have this huge problem of owning a Porsche, a Ferrari, a Lambo, a Bugatti, and a 'vette at the same time, and they're burdened with having to choose each morning? You know how the guy really thinks it's a serious problem worthy of everyone else's time, and the rest of the members are thinking "What a douche!"?

Yeah, it's like that.

Unless you're an idiot (and you're not), yes it does. I make less than you in the same area, support 6 people 100%, and live well (enough).

You have 2 choices.

Take it and be happy about it or quit.

In this economic climate you are lucky to get any kind of raise at all. We have not given raises here in about 3 years.

People need to remember there is no rule that says employees have to get a raise. Yeah you may have earned it with your quality of work and effort but it doesn't mean you HAVE to get one.

Yeah, it's like that.

It's all relative... there are plenty of folks who make way more than I. And there are plenty of folks on this very thread who will make what I make now or more by the time they reach my age.

I shouldn't have posted the numbers... didn't realize people would care so much.

Very true, but we don't know who they are.
