My Radio Station Has Gone Latino!

Dammit--My guilty pleasure 80s music radio station has switched formats to Latino! Now I get to listen to "El Miembro de una Comisión!"

I moved away, and when I went back to visit my parents, I noticed that my former favorite station was now playing classic rock crap. Turns out they had just moved from 104.3 to 103.9, and some other station was now using 104.3.

No such luck for me--the station owners said that the Latino market is growing really fast where I live (in southwest Florida), so they deep 6'd the 80s. Thank goodness for, uh, online music.

No, it had to be "worst of classic rock" or something. There are 5 other classic rock stations in the area andthey all play better music than that one does.

Well, there is some good classic rock and some not-so-good. I understand your sentiments, as long as you're not looking at it from the perspective that most of the kids that I know look at classic rock from: "That stuff? You mean, like that weird 'floyd' group and sh!t? Ugh, I think I'll stick with eminem" :|

I listen to classic rock myself. Sometimes, when I'm in another city, I will tune into a classic rock station that sucks. They play all of the short versions of the songs. Give me a twenty minute guitar solo and I'm in heaven.

Same thing happening in Atlanta. All of the Stations are either Latino or Rap now and owned by Clear Channel, Cox and ABC.

I remember when the famous KNAC in Long Beach/L.A went from metal to latino several years ago. The final song they played at midnight was Metallica's "Fade to Black". Next thing you heard was ranchero music.

Luckily they were resurrected as an internet only station.

I haven't found a decent radio station in Chicago for a couple of years.

I can't stand what Q101 usually plays now (punk influenced rock) and I never got into dance music. Ever since they took away all the good classic rock stations, I've been forced to CD everywhere I go. It's a sad, sad day

Radio stations suck. Especially Clear Channel stations. They just play the top 10 songs over and over and over. Then there are the really annoying and endless advertisements. Really a bore.
