I never understood snakes as pets - they are cold and unfeeling it seems.
well i couldnt have a dog (have severe allergies) and hate cats. plus i think snakes are neat.
Now i am NOT into the huge anaconda (yes you can buy those) or such. I have a few ball pythons and a yellow belly racer (gardner snake).
Its a lot of fun to have the snake around your shoulders when you answere the door.

No offense meant, I just personally never connected with them.
I have severe cat allergies as well, don't have the time or patience to train a dog for apartment life, don't have a farm (would love a goat as a pet). The gerbils are my 'son's' pets. He takes awesome care of them, and they are hand tame. I inherited the cockatiel, I'm convinced it will outlive me haha, and the rats are something I've always done. The beta was from one I rescued from a pet store accident (don't ask). . .

Why would you move from the farm to a 'real house' (no need to reply if money related, then I understand) . ..

I've got a genius grey named Louie. He knows about 50 words that he uses in sentences and such. He knows all of our dogs by name, calls the cats then proceeds to attack them, and he calls all of us by name. He's very very smart and articulate! He's young to know all of this too, about 2-3 years!
