I'm 28 and still paying for my '01 Prelude.

Nah. I'm a responsible driver however I am afraid of how tempting it will be to speed. Is the Valentine 1 the current standard for detectors?
I'm checking into the ratings for the OEM tires, they are performance tires and I don't know how well its going to function in the rain. However I don't plan to take it out in the rain.

Nice. Were you able to buy it at MSRP or did you have to pay the BS market adjustment?
slightly below MSRP. Total damage came to $62,400. I forgot to include the ipod adapter but he threw it in for free but the Silver Novillo leather was included at $860 instead of $950, I forgot to mention that.
I was on the fence about M-DCT but I kept hearing very good things about it. That it's much better than the old SMG in the e46 M3s.
Darkthinker, it's been mentioned on several m3 forums that the new M3 is probably cannibalizing the M5/6 sales because it's such a good value right now. Personally, I agree. Although I'd love to have the space of the M5 but 12MPG? No thanks. Even though I have a 4 mile commute to work I just couldn't justify that car at the cost its at.

Haha! When I was 28 I was driving a 14-year-old POS Civic with over 200k miles. Good on ya, OP. Enjoy!

I have a feeling this really isn't your "one and only lifetime splurge".

I finally did it. After hemming and hawing. I decided if I don't do this now then I never will. We're planning on having kids next year so the wife said "if you can fit a baby seat in it, then you can have it". Fair enough!

Michelin Pilot Sport 2s are stock tires for the M3.
High performance tires generally do better in the rain than their all season counterparts. What you have to worry about is temperature. If it gets below 40-50 degrees F where you live, drive very carefully or invest in a set of spare wheels w/all season tires. High performance tires get harder in cold temperatures.Originally posted by: Owls
