It is more than clear to me that people with such a deep-seated distaste for gays nearly always have issues with their own sexuality. I imagine NesuD is mostly afraid of what he himself might do if he spent an extended period around a gay man.

Yes there is, one bias is based on a person's actions, the other his mere existence. One is perfectly rational, the other is not. All the PC BS that abounds now has made everyone lose sight of that. I'm not a homophobe, I have nothing against gay people, they can be gay all they want, I just wouldn't want to witness any of it.

I once had a co-worker that was pretty bothered by gay people. I periodically reminded him that when gay men pair up, it leaves more women in an "available" status. He happened to be a single guy who didn't take opportunities to look for dates with all of those "available" women. 🙁

Living in close quarters (like a dorm room) can be very stressful - even for those with similar values and views. However, if put into a situation where a roommate is the complete opposite of you really creates additional stress - which is not needed on an unnecessary basis with all of the other pressures that exist with school as it is.
