So... I'm taking a drive across America. JOY.

Just missed some tornado's driving through MO. So... On my way back to Oregon. I'm doing the speed limit in Kansas 75 MPH mind you! And people are passing me left in right. Most of them are in big SUV's. You know those huge gas guzzeling yukons Even frigen Ford F350's pulling 5'th wheelers are passing me.

Mater of fact I didn't meet up with one person that was going the speed limit. Aren't all you 90% religious fucks suppose to be going to hell for doing something illegal?

Hahaha Ok, back to my rant. Let's get real! I'm driving a Buick Riviera 3.8L super charged even, a car that was made to go fast, it gets about 27-28 on the freeway if I keep it around 65. So here I am going 75. I could go faster and burn even MORE gas. But I choose to try to conserve a bit. You know I don't want to empty my wallet out all at once to the ME!

Come on people. Every car in America is geared for 55MPH driving. Wanna go 15-25 over that? You burn up 30-40% more fuel trying to go faster and for what? So you can shave off a few minutes? I could see it if we all had few more gears to cruise at 80 MPH.

Kinda makes you wonder why they even sell CF Light bulbs and fuel efficient cars. Sigh. It amazes me how all these people that go 80 MPH in the huge SUV's and Trucks afford the 4 bucks per gallon.

Wanna support terrorism? Drive faster and send even MORE US dollars to the ME. Way to go retards!

I just think instead of conserving our resources we are just doing the opposite and seem like in a REAL hurry to waste it.

Rearranged for lolz @ u

Maybe when your at church this sunday you can repent for all those time you went over the speed limit. If you read my rant... The jokes on you. Get a clue and learn to read.

Gotta do the speed limit. I suppose I could go 55? Prob get a ticket for driving too slow, I think you can only go 5MPH under any posted speed. I'm not a cop so I don't know. Really tho you should be only required to go 55. But that's my take. If they had a 55MPH lane I'd be in it, I'm in no hurry but I don't feel like getting rear ended in the process.

Not so much gearing, but more of aerodynamics. Wind resistance is the dominate factor at that speed.

Speed limit is 65 by me, and I rarely go faster.

I also don't drive across the entire country while simultaneously bitching that people are wasting $4.00/gallon gas.

I guess you would if you were moving. But regardless you'd get a ticket for driving to slow if the speed limit was 75.

That's like bragging you drink diet soda while consuming 5,000 calories a day, and then complaining about other peoples' eating habits.

You have an old car, so your car may be geared for 55mph.

Modern cars are geared for.. you guessed it, the highway speed limits of 65-75mph or higher.

Why is the left who is always claiming to be tolerant of others always seem to be so intolerant of everyone who doesn't think like they do? If these people were having high risk anonymous sex with members of the same sex you would be posting about how its a choice and not to judge them. But since they are going 10mph over what you think they should be and not limiting their carbon output then you freak out.

Your ilk constantly says stay out of my bedroom. Well, stay out of my SUV!

One more 'tip' if I will. Cars don't run on carburetors any more. They have computers and all sorts of high tech stuff in them! They can ADJUST to different driving conditions to give you better fuel mileage! Even all the fundamentalist churchgoers you are insulting understand THAT.

1) If they choose to go faster, that's their business, not yours.
2) You don't know how far they are going. Doing 85 versus 75 is a small difference over a short distance, but it will become more and more pronounced.
3) It's not really about gearing, and your assumptions there are incorrect anyways.
4) Your terrorism comparison is idiotic.
5) Comparatively speaking, your car is outdated, and it wasn't actually built to go that fast.
6) It may amaze you that they can afford such, but whether they can or not is again their concern, not yours. Just like you want the right to stay out of the bedroom, you should stay out of everyone else's wallet.

Nor any logic skills either, this is part of your argument:

Premise: I see people around me that I hate
Conclusion: The people around me are religious

Grow up.

The only car I had that got its best mileage around that was an AMC. My others have had better power and mileage closer to 70, and I haven't even owned a car that wasn't over a decade old.

I also don't assume that speeders are religious nuts.

For your average 20 minute commute about half the gas is burned up in the first few minutes just heating the engine and anything over 45 mph is fighting the wind. Hence a Model T Ford got about 21 mpg because it didn't limit pollution and never got over 45 mph. The record today is 2,500 mpg, albeit for one cramped passenger inches off the ground doing 15 mph.

Any asshole who lives in the suburbs, buys oversized vehicles, votes for politicians who don't demand higher standards, and then complains about gas prices isn't worth listening to.

Oh, something else I didn't note. If you want to complain about gas guzzling, the only reason your car has a supercharger is to go faster, i.e. consume more fuel, and in fact, your supercharger is taking power off the engine constantly. If you're serious about fuel conservation, remove the belt.

Also, pics or shens on 27-28 highway MPG.

I'm very amused by the OP who rants about other people wasting gasoline when he could have very easily taken a bus rather than his land yacht designed to appeal to 70 year-olds - way to go retard!
