I call up newegg and explain the story to get an RMA and to waive the restocking fee. After 2 minutes on hold the guy comes back, says here is your RMA number and the email is on its way, no restocking fee.

Newegg gets a  from me.
You're a nicer guy than you seem. :)

newegg = for the most part
only place I order from for my parts usually, except on my new build I'm probably gonna order the case from another site because they have a lower price on it and ship via fedex without the higher charges - that is one thing I don't like that newegg has done :( I miss the standard fedex shipping for $5 (or more if it is like a big case or monitor or something).

Want to talk fast? I ordered a new HDD at 1:36 AM Wednesday. Was delivered 11:12 AM Thursday. I did not specify the expedited processing, nor any quick shipping options. Just the standard 3 day.

Of course, every rose does have its thorn... UPS left the package out in the rain and it sat there for 8 hours or so. But the drive itself was bone dry.

i got refunded for my shipping but it still doesn't justify UPS crappy service

still <3 newegg tho, but UPS = newegg's bad egg (and to top it all off, the lady who took my call was a freakn bitch) i'm pretty mad, i been patient - most ppl call in that day or the next, i waited a couple just to be understanding

not newegg's fault that UPS can't seem to get stuff where it belongs . At one point UPS didn't deliver because of "bad weather conditions" - it was lightly snowing. Later one we had an ice storm, 2 inches of ice on almost everything (including roads) and were delivering stuff - how screwed up is that?

Where does UPS tracking say it is?

i doubt it, i ordered a video card the next day and that arrived a day earlier (same day my ram should have came in) also, i ordered speakers friday and they're coming in tomorrow

the ram tracking says in transit: destination scan but it's been like that since the 3rd

i know it's not newegg's fault and that's why i still love'm, but now i see wut a lot of ppl are talking about, UPS = crappy service and has a pretty damn rude employee at the nearest UPS store from my house

The only time I had a problem with newegg was with my very first order from them about 3-4 years ago.

I ordered a floppy drive and a couple other small things to test the water. The floppy drive was defective, and I when I sent them an email about it, "Robert" said he would send out a new one, no charge.

A few months went by, no sign of the drive ever. I stopped caring because I stopped using floppies at that point. I made a post about it here when someone had asked about bad newegg experiences and a few days later, I got a call from Newegg saying that I had a box full of goodies, a gift certificate and a replacement for the drive on the way to me. The rep also did some research to find out why "Robert" hadn't gotten the drive out, and found out that he quit or was fired or something the same day as I called. I don't know if it's true or not, but that's kinda moot point.

All in all, knowing that they actually peruse the forums to look for things like that and go out of their way to fix their errors has made me a customer for life. While price is always a concern, if the cost of the items is similar but a little higher on the 'egg, they get my business.

Since then, I've probably places a dozen or more orders with them and have not had a single problem.

i totally agree

i was thinking about buying used stuff on forums and such, but i decided to spend the extra and support newegg (plus i like stuff brand new)

i just wish UPS would be as kind as newegg in returning the good attitude. i've shipped with USPS and FedEX and i've always been treated good

and u say box full of goodies ... u meant chocolate right ;)

Hey, I like that Anandtech now has their own Newegg support guy monitoring the forums for us. I wish that amazon.com offered that service!

well last night i posted a review bc i just ordered something online and i registered with resellerratings.com and figured i should leave feedback on all the online retailers i've bought stuff from. i left a good review on Newegg.com but i did comment on the slow processing + shipping on my mouse and i guess it caught their attention.

i got a phone call today and i was like wtf? and i'm like wow, that's what i call customer loyalty. i was offered X and Free Shipping & gauranteed to arrive on time.

oh well i just wanted to share that simple story, small things go a long way.

I have no prolblem with Newegg.com service. Customer service is not what you said. I call Newegg customer service more then 10 times, I can say 10+ for Newegg CS.
