Retro-lookin'
Enclosure during sound test.
Retro goodies.
Non-retro goodies.
I think it helps that my electrical components were actually manufactured about the same time as the radio
Those are actually hand-me-down LEDs, LED covers, pot, and pushbutton manufactured in the 70's.
In case you can't tell (Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of the actual FRONT of the unit) it's an RCA stereo cabinet with 8-track and record player. It's going to get an MP3 infusion.
Note that my control panel isn't exactly finished, it still needs to be cut SQUARE and painted black (or silver, I havn't decided yet).
Also, see the big mold spot in the pic of the old equipment? How do you clean that sh!t up?
I'm still looking for a way to stealth a DVDROM drive into this. Ideas? Anything else I should do?
Edit for stupid catch phrase that I stole from someone's comment.
Mild update: I need new ideas on a layout for the control panel, I've decided to incorporate some additional controls since I'm cannibalizing 1 and a half joysticks and using 2 whole game ports all told. We now need: 2 pots, 2 LED's, and the pushbutton. I'm thinking that for simplicity's sake, I'll just line it all up in a row.
