With their finally being some discounts on the car with 0% interest loan and free 3 year premium maintenance package I finally went and picked one up, in Atlantis Green.

Had about 150 miles when I signed for it from test drives and the MPG calculator was around 31. After the dealer filled it up computer showed me an estimate of 500 to go. I then drove it for 10 days to work over 2 weeks before having to hit the pump again. Due to the hit the AC is pretty much always on and on the 28-32 mile trips I was showing between 35 and 41 mpg. The after file estimate was upped to 590 miles and with just over 15 gallons going into the tank, the 36.5 mpg hand estimate matches the vehicles displayed long term estimate.

The 4 banger in this feels as good as the 6 in the old grandam, have no problem driving on the interstate at whatever speed I'm willing to burn the gas on. (And it is nice to go from a 20 gallon fill up each week to biweekly 15)

Did the first washing this weekend as the pollen buildup on it was starting to get bad, but with the temperatures it's not the best it could be. I have an appointment during the week to have a paint defect fixed on the front bumper so didn't go crazy yet with wax and such, but I did notice a small white like blemish near dead center on the hood that will probably need to be clayed out (did use some detailing spray later in the day once sun was down even though car itself still warm to get out a couple water spots and noticed it) Will also need to redo the windows as the heat caused them to streak.

Have a couple questions at the moment, want to get custom fitted floor mats, what's a good site to shop from?

And for the stack of car towels I have, any precautions for washing them prior to next use?

weathertech floormats are the best. you'll pay, but they're custom fitted for each vehicle.

I found GreenHybrid a good source when my wife got the Escape but the Fusion section doesn't seem as active. One of my co-worker's dad has one and he loves it. Seems like a nice car for it's size. The dashboard display is pretty catchy.

Wow, that looks really nice. I got scared when you said you got green for a moment. :) I don't think I could ever keep a white interior, since all my jeans are really heavily dyed and would ruin the finish.

That radio looks surreal. I'd love to see a quick YouTube video of it in action. I love tech in cars.

Only other choice than stone interior is black, and black was noticeably hotter when sat in.

oh yeah, entire thing is awesome, forget getting distracted by the dash display as that sucker in the center just draws your attention. it's just so cool that a passenger in the car can hit the phone button and a touch screen comes up that looks like a phone both dial pad and they could make a call there through your phone. Probably won't bother with it till the weekend, but i'll see about shooting the different modes.

Accord looks like shit on certain days. Other days I think it looks OK. I dunno why.

i absolutely despise that groove thing they have going down the sides now, one look at it when I seriously started looking at cars and it was off the list.

Welcome to the Fusion Hybrid club!! Get ride of the leaves and use the 10 or 20 minute bar graph, it'll make getting better mileage easier. And get to know Sync it's awesome and does everything! As far as floormats I got the Ford all weather ones they work great. If you have any questions bout the car just let know I've had mine over a year now.

Congrats, I'm jealous! By far my favorite hybrid out right now, well at least until the Porsche Spyder comes out.

yeah I haven't had hardly any weekend time yet to play around with all of the functions. First weekend I went out of town and last was catching up for 2 weekends not at home. might just go and download the instruciton book and catch up every now and then at work.

as far as mpg, hardest thing by far is staying electric when starting from a complete stop. often i have to ease off the pedal for a moment letting the gas die out and then i can cruise and continue to accelerate on electric. when car got lighter with a near empty tank and i killed the AC, was nice to see end of trip ratings over 41 mpg.

The Fusion hybrid isn't worth the price premium if you're strictly concerned about fuel economy (considering my V6 gets 28ish if I keep my foot out of it). However, its allure is the fact that it has the best balance of fuel economy, gadgets, and creature comforts available in that price range. It looks sharp too.

I really hope hybrid tech matures to the point where we see it in nearly all cars (perhaps only entry-level trim won't have it), simply to increase city mileage. I'd love to have a 250+ HP V6 sedan that still pulls ~30-35 MPG average as long as you don't push it. Unfortunately the tech is still expensive at the moment, and it just doesn't make sense to pair it with anything except a gas-sipping engine.

Holy Moly.........for a second there I thought your radio was showing the temperature.
I've always like the styling of the Fushion. Congrats.

Well, on a couple drives home over last week or so that was about what the temp gauge displayed.
