My neighbor's grandaughter just asked a question

She asked why the tires of a car (the rims, I assume) and helicopter blades look like they are moving backwards when they started moving in a forward direction. Because she's only 5, I didn't think she would be able to comprehend our brain, visual signals and the speeds at which we can take in data. So I just told her it's because of magic.

Her response was simply, "There's no such thing as magic. You lied."

Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning
Lazy day in bed
Music in my head
Crazy music playing in the morning light

Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

I love my sunny day
Dream of far away
Dreaming on my pillow in the morning
Never been awake
Never seen a day break
Leaning on my pillow in the morning light

Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

Ho, ho, ho
It's magic, you know
Never believe it's not so
It's magic, you know
Never believe, it's not so

My bet is she was referring to what she saw on TV. That's because of the scan rate of the TV.

What kind of sad little 5 year olds don't believe in magic? No fairy tales, no elves, goblins and, trolls? No Santa Claus, Tooth fairy, Easter Bunny or, under the bed monsters? How dreary and boring.

She believes in magic, everything you posted above. Especially the under the bed monsters. Just had a lapse. Loves Santa, Disney movies, Easter Bunny, etc.

LoL.

see, that's why it's always better to bore them with the truth. Who cares if she's too confused to understand it at that age? at least you wouldn't be lying to her.

He got owned by a 5-year-old. He's going to need more magic.
Fixed her up for ya.

The five-year old girl?

Come have a seat over here....

Dude...never EVER answer questions for other people's kids...just tell them to go ask their mom/dad/grandparents.
