Cars will not see you.
As a motorcycle rider I wear a leather jacket, gloves, boots, and a helmet
She killed him her fault plain and simple.
Any state that has no helmet laws are insane IMO
Motorcycles have their place in traffic, use your superior acceleration braking and vision to keep from dying. I drive a street bike I used to have a crotch rocket but those days are long behind me
You said it your self. Cars will not see you. That is the whole point ,imho. She may not have driven dangerously or recklessly. Yes, I know the facts that have been reported of the accident. But I think we all could agree that she did not see him or she would not have pulled out. The only thing dangerous or reckless would be if she did not look. There have been several times I have looked and the motorcycle was just not there. I make my move and Shazam!, he drops in from his space ship. One difference between a bike and a motorcycle is speed. They have the same approximate profile. And yet bike riders where neon glow stuff and do everything they can to be seen.
If your gonna ride a motorcycle you are almost always automatically, at least partially at fault, imho, because you contributed to your own accident just because of the nature of the equuipment involved.
The law may say no helmet and equal liability but when has anyone ever confused the law with reality.
In a court room during a lawsuit, I suppose. A judge may be obligated by the law to do the wrong thing and give this girl a prison sentence. Justice and the law are not very compatible sometimes and some laws are just downright stupid. It does contribute to the GNP though.
