lol, I had high hopes for this thread too, but the post-it note solution is probably the best real world solution.

If it doesn't cure the problem, however, escalation is required

[add] My first though was that the idea is great, however back shiponage/contaminate your household potable water with weed killer isn't a good idea.

And for every dollar of water he takes, just remember you made him pay for a new engine and laugh like a lunatic.

No, not MILK! Try Bleach! Remember that "MythBuster" episode where they were trying to kill a car engine with diff. chemicals, etc? Bleach works real good **LMAO**

Anything that isn't gas will mess up the car enough. A couple gallons of Diesel fuel would do fine. I'd go with the most fitting liquid though- water. Lots of it.

When he leaves one day, go around his house and turn all of his spigots on full blast, then break off the handles, and weld them in the open posistion...

OR wait until hes gone again, grab on of his hoses, feed it through an open window in his house and let her rip.

You're a baron of the yard too, so I imagine that you have a walk-behind fertilizer spreader.

Fill it with rock salt, walk a random trail through his yard.

If he's stealing your water, he's probably siphoning your gas too. Better fill your gas tank with something that'll destroy his car.

Im not saying he needs to go over there, ring the door bell, and punch him in the face. A post-it note that tells him if he doesn't stop stealing from him, then they'll need to have a "chat" ...way to be a < >.

He needs to go contact the police so the police can have a "chat" with him, or he needs to go confront him man to man and talk about how he knows whats going on.

I agree that confronting him man-to-man is the better option, but a post-it note is much less lame than calling the cops. You're going to waste your time, his time, and the policeman's time over maybe a dollar of water? Please.

$1 of water? For all we or the OP know, this guy could be using his hose for months or years now. I personally would get evidence and take him to court.

I don't think it would be worth it to take him to court over using his hose ;)

Just stick a huge sign in the gound beside the hose that says "FVCK OFF"
