You didn't say how strict his parents are. I still wouldn't tell his parents. You don't know if

1) he's rebelling from his parents,
2) scared of his parents,
3) his parents don't care.

1 - His parents would already know since he might've eaten it in front of them.
2 - You'll get him in trouble for no reason
3 - They'll wonder why you're squealing on him

As long as he doesn't die when it's in his system, he's still fine, right?
This is not a biological issue or even a dietary one. This is a religious issue.

Personally I could careless what anybody eats, but being that he is Muslim, he has certain obligations to his religion. If he decides to abondon his religious beliefs that is fine with me.

Yeah, I know that. Based on what I've learned from talking to muslims, they believe that you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven with pork in your body, so I guess they don't eat it just in case they die. I could be wrong of course, or that could be one specific branch of the religion.

His parents don't know and I am not going to tell them either.

Who knows why he is doing it. I just don't like keeping secrets.

actually, it could be dangerous...

muslims haven't eaten pork in so ling their bodies develop an intolerance to it...

he might not die, but he could very well get super sick.

from what I understand, the original taboo of not eating pork was based on the fact that they were not cooking it well enough...they would get sick and die.

I think that many of the eating restrictions in religion were borne out of a sanitary or healthy necessity.

That's what i thought. Or something about it going bad fast, because of the lack of fridges, etc. Somehow it rots worse than beef and chicken? I don't know...

A lot of my muslim friends eat porks, they always said it taste the best. First time I found out about this I was surprised but then I found out a lot of them are doing this so it wasn't a shocker to me anymore.

Thats the exact reason my Jewish friend gave when I asked him about eating pork. He eats it every day.
