I have a bulging disk right now, had it for the last two months. Spend most of my time in pain, and mornings in agony. Wakes me up out of a sound sleep at least 3-4 times a night. Got great pills for it, but I don't wanna be stoned for most of the day.
A heating pad helps and I agree with the posters here that recommend stretching. What also helps me... and this is gonna seem weird... if when I lay on the bed and my b/f pulls my feet. Ok ok ok, I went to a chiropractor and for $300.00 he took an X-Ray and then made me lay down on a table and he pulled my feet, one at a time, to straighten my spine. Did not help at first, so when he told me that for another $300.00 I could come back once a day for three days, and every day for a week for only $1,000. I said no. But after a few hours, my back did start to feel better, so now I get my daughter of my b/f to pull my feet.
Lay flat on your stomach, Stretch your arms over your head and grab the top of the mattress... Get someone to pull your feet straight back. Hold it for about 10 seconds. then do the other one. After about two or three times each leg. Just relax. Hopefully this will work for you, too.
