Some good stuff Fausto. I got Johnny Blue, Hennessy XO, and McCallen's 25 y/o. 😉

Ahh, my old friend Johnny Blue. I worked in a bar where the manager would bribe me with the Blue label when he wanted extra work out of me.

"I don't care what colour label it has, if it's blended it's crap!"

I usually agree, but must dissent for this one colour.

  for the Laphroaig 15

I only have a 10. 🙁

And the rest of the current stash:
- 1L Dalmore 12
- 1L Sapphire
- 1L Stolichnaya
- 0.75L Hennessy V.S.O.P.
- 0.5L Sibona Grappa
- 0.5L Williams (without a pear inside, pity...)
- 0.75L Coldstream Hills (Australian) Merlot
- 3 x 0.75L assorted wino, mainly Australian Shiraz

Not forgetting two cratefuls consisting of Danish Royal Stout and beers: Tsingtao and some cheap Belgian called Martens Pils.

I got you beat. I have about 15 single Malts. Sadly, they are in storage waiting for me to move into my new house... 🙁

Sorry, your liquor cabinet sucks; no tequila. Please don't bother to invite me over because now that I know your liquor cabinet sucks, I won't be coming. 😛

Yup, the blue is like butter in your mouth, it melts! One of the happiest days of my life was when my roomate said I could have his Johnny Blue/Red/Black from the liquor cabinet because he didn't really care for them (he got them as a gift). 😉

My little brother drinks that stuff, and Jim Beam... goddamm kid thinks he was born in the backwoods of Arkansas instead of Ireland.. At least I got him drinking Jameson's, now it's not quite as embrassing to be seen in public with him

I'm almost exclusively a wine and beer drinker, but I do have an occasional scotch. I only say this so you can excuse what might likely be an ignorant question: Why would they age the scotch in a Sherry cask?

Bit of sweet smokiness to the flavour...

that, and they forgot which barrels to put it in... 😛

Very nice. However you are missing the McAllen and Oban.

Unfortunately I don't have many opportunities to try a good scotch. And when I do I can't remember what it was.

Of course my beer cooler > all.

Bastage. I can't keep alcohol around here, but I actually have stopped drinking pretty much. Beer here or there, or perhaps some whisky when I'm out, but no hardcore drinking. I might get into Scotch and just sip sip sip. 😛

I believe you mean The Macallan
Thank you for correcting him.

I'm not a big fan of the Islays, but more importantly, you have little diversity. You do have at least one Highland aged in Sherry casks, but I would recommend The Macallan or Balvenie. I've got 18yo Knockando (the first scotch I ever liked), Balvenie Doublewood, Macallan Gran Reserve (better than their 25 or 30, and I know because I've had them side-by-side to compare), Bowmore (can't remember which one), Bushmill single barrel, and a 15yo Macallan for those that stop by that can't appreciate something better. Then I've got all the staples: Stoli, Bailey's, Kahlua, Old Whiskey River, Jim Beam, Bacardi, Tanqueray 10, Bombay Sapphire, Grey Goose, and plenty of Coke, tonic water, and half & half to mix it all with. IMO, much more impressive. I don't keep Tequila around because it's not a real drink IMO.

Yes I'm sorry for blaspheming. It's as bad as those who spell the black gold "Guiness"

I don't know all the different sublties of scotch. But I do know if I like it and the 25 yr Macallen was the best I've had so far. For a moderate price, I'd go for the Oban 14.

No biggie... just making sure there wasn't a new type that I hadn't tried.. 😀

To be honest, I've never had an Oban that I've enjoyed... for some reason, i found it to be very bitter and have a sour aftertaste. Smells great, and pours well, but I just can't drink it...

Macallan's is good stuff, but highly priced, and I would say a tad overrated. I know it's cliche, but a lot of the smaller mills tend to put out a better Scotch. Just personal opinion... Frankly, I enjoy Irish Whiskey far better as a sipping drink, and only bring the Scotch out on special occassions.

LMFAO.....thanks for playing.

I mean seriously...you're trying to e-own me with your knowledge of adult beverages and

[*] You not sure of the spelling of certain varietals (merlot is not a "strong" wine by the way)

[*] White russians and Baileys are wussy drinks

[*] You invoked the S-bucks name

You lose. Badly. 😛

The only thing he didn't do was mention how he's usually much better at CounterStrike after a few glasses of Brunello. 😛
