Okay so that is cool to know that you all use it and know it will hold up heavy equipment. i'm going to check out HD at some point before this weeks end. if they don't have it i may go check out lowes, not sure which is better to check out but i have both close to my job. hope i can find 19" shelf piece things.

just purchased these 3 speakers:

he said he's going to be able to ship them out today so i'm really hoping he can get them out today. they are coming from chicago and fedex gave him a time of 3 days to get to me, which would be middle of next week hopefully.

so excited!

it's this guy over on avs. i'm getting them at the price i would basically get T8's brand new for, so i figure might as well just snag them up. i really hope they are as badass as everyone says they are for HT 😛 but i'm pretty sure they will be. and it seems like these things are pretty easy to sell in general so in the odd case i did not like them, i'm pretty confident i could sell them no problem probably for exactly what i paid.

they are that badass, i expect jaw on floor reactions when you get everything hooked up.

you going to order a pair of Slant 8s for surrounds or just use something you currently have for now?

that i'm not sure about. i'm definitely going to get new ones the ones i have now SSUUCCKK. i just don't know exactly which ones to get. i wasn't sure if i should get slanted or the normal single ones. but then i'm wondering if i should get t8's for them lol but i'm sure that will be overkill. but i'm already sure the t12's are overkill so why not keep up the overkill?

there are 2 people who are each selling a single t8 on the forums that i've talked to. one is local too. but i don't think they are the same year model since one was purchased in 2009 and one was purchased in 2010 so that means they may have slight differences inside of them, so i didn't think it would be a great idea to get 1 from one guy, and 1 from another guy.

yea you would have to ask Jeff about that. not sure what changed in them. Im pretty sure you will be very happy with the setup you have, and i think you and other will be supprised by the SQ coming out of both the speakers and subs. they dont look like anything special but they are.

With the caps on their sides you should not have an issue standing the 12 on them, it might put the tweeter a little higher then ear level but it should sound fine and you can always just stand them on the floor if you have to

yea i may play around with putting them on top of the caps. i'm just not sure if it will all fit properly over in the corner to the right of my screen. and like you said, it may put the speakers just a tad higher than i would ideally like. im initially going to just have them on the ground and see how it sounds. im going to contact jeff though and see what the prices for the stands are, or just build some. im going to have to do something with the center channel to angle it up as well.

as far as the looks yea they aren't the prettiest speakers by any means, but i have to say, the aggressive look of them has really grown on me as i've been considering them and looking at more setups of them. for a living room though, i definitely would not put something like this in there lol. although, the current floor standing towers i have are going back into my living room when i get my new speakers down there.

Dude, you should queue up some pipe organ music.

lol i don't really care how that sounds anyways 😛

Pipe organs will test the limit of your speakers. And your house's structural integrity. 😎

lol i can't listen to it here at work, but i see the big ass organ.

i've always wondered if so much bass and sound could realistically mess with the structural integrity of a house. that would suck to have your house collapse due to too loud sounds lol.

drive back up to andrews when gets the other 2 subs fired up and find out 😛

he will have 8 18's in 4 dual opposed boxes with something like 8500 watts going to them in ~6000 CUFT

yea haha. i really liked how his 4 18's sounded for music. the drums in the songs just punched you in the gut when they hit. i wish i had heard them with some movie soundtracks.

well damn my speakers are on the way! estimated delivery date is monday but i'd be pretty surprised if they got here before xmas. but still that is awesome. i'll hook up 2 of them to my upstairs setup when i first get them since i have it wired already with my denon, but i know the bass in the speakers isn't that good and i will only have my klipsch sub up there. but definitely gonna check them out immediately up there 🙂

well ain't this a bitch...

i ordered 4 pole speakon connectors by accident. meant to get 2 but i'm a noob to this and didn't realize it when i checked out.

anyone know if the 4 pole ones will be fine if i only use 2 of the poles but just make sure they match on the other end? or is it bad to have 2 empty slots on the connectors?

if it makes any difference i'll just return these and get the 2 pole ones, but if these will work the same i'll just keep them. they are still wrapped up new.

EDIT:

found out that i will be fine, as the guy i purchased them from has the same 4 pole ones i got lol.

that is the 3 foot wide one and i'm almost wondering if i should have gotten the 4 now that i have it in there and see how much space just that amp takes up. but initially this should do fine since I only have some consoles, a cable box, a receiver, and amp that i will have on there.

Purbeast just make your own speaker stands, the kind that your oggling over at avs. MDF is cheap and they will be simple enough to make and you can customize them to your specific room.
