My High School Supports Piracy

Today we had day one of Senior Activities week, and we had to watch Bowling for Columbine movie, starring your favorite man: Michael Moore. I was wondering how we could be watching the movie when it has not come out in stores. Few minutes later, they start the movie, and what do I see on the bottom of the projection? " #TmD-moviez " and " Irc.Criten.Net " My friend took pictures of it, and here you go (had to Photoshop it so you could see it):

new host for images, thanks jumpr

So, what are you waiting for? YOu should be emailing the MPAA, the RIAA and the like. Turn the bastards in! Give them your real name! Give them the home address of your Dean of Students!!!

Just don't expect to graduate next month... 😛

if its takes any money out of michael moore's pockets I'm all for it. Maybe your school was protesting in their own way against that fat slob's idiocy. 🙂

we showed it in my school about 4 weeks ago, and she even said it was pirated.

lol!!!!!!

that's awesome. i had a feeling my school was bootlegging movies, but they never had a server channel imprinted on the movie.

heh.. I'm glad they're teaching "FSCK the RIAA and FSCK the MPAA" in schools now.

Pretty soon, all of society will hate the RIAA and MPAA. Yippy. Capitalism will be back again.

completely legal under fair use laws, you can privately show anything for education or critical evaluation.

Oh yeah, in the computer repair class at my school we fix computers for the whole district and we usedto use burnt single license coppies of ms windows 95/98, office 2000, windows nt, and some other software...Ive heard of the teacher even "hooking" kids up with software.

Happened at my high school and college. Although I don't know if it's still going on at my high school, been about four years since I've been there.

Finally a school administration that is working smarter and not harder!

This is the way it should be educational purposes and for the purpose of learning.

Why should schools be punished, be charged a fee, for software or for multimedia that is used for the expressed purpose of education?

We're sorry, but this page is currently unavailable for viewing.

Anyways, I don't REALLY need to see it, just letting you know.

But...yeah, way to go 😛

EDIT: Nevermind, I guess you haven't exceeded bandwidth or anything, just had to "drag" the address in the address bar again.

You have something for blackmail now 😀

Tell them that you expect a 4.3 gpa this semester or else federal pound me in the a$$ prison for them.

LOL!

That's quite funny.

The links don't work though.

Yes, even if I drag. Data transfer allocation exceeded.

Whoa, are you serious? What are the definitions of education, and critical evaluation?

Happens at my school too. Hey, who wants a copy of the C++ compiler for home use? Just return it tomorrow because this kid gets it then.

Thank you.

Are you serious?

I work for the company that makes and distributes that title.

I figure I could have someone call them... we don't normally pursue high schools/middle schools when they don't license from us, but showing pirated materials without our permission is like a double whammy. Just a heads up/scare/fyi.

Do you work for MGM or UA?

It just seems a little petty, though, to go after some high school in who-knows-where over showing some pirated movie. Unless it would help you get you somewhere in your job I don't see any benefit to anyone for causing a stink about it.

The C++ compiler is probably free and you can download it legally off the company website anyway.

My Uni has a bunch of software that you can burn off the computers. They are all freeware or free off the internet. But downloading 500mb is a problem for most people as they don't have broadband so quicker to burn.
