I've never really noticed this before, but now that I do, I sympathize with their plight. I was waking around at lunch and something caught my attention - just about every car parked in and around the financial district has a handicap placard on the rear view mirror or sticker. Mind you, none of these are mini vans with wheel chair lifts, no, we're taking about 2-door German coupes and the like.

These poor souls, it turns out that when I asked myself "what the fark is wrong with these people?" Apparently, they have their causes. Perhaps it's not a physical ailment, but more of a mental affliction. It was not obvious to me, but it is now.

I completely understand now and am regretful that I have ever spoke about them with ill tongue. I just hope that they can find it in their wonderful hearts to forgive me, consider this a public apology.

Mental retardation is a handicap. It afflicts most San Francisco residents. It's how Nancy Pelosi keeps getting elected. :D

I see, their reputation has preceded them. Even a Canadian knows about the retardation that lives here.

I've seen the same thing almost every time I go into the city. block after block...filled with cars with handicapped placards or plates. Of course, you park for free at meters when you have those...and the time limits don't usually apply...

Most of them I think are driven by city employees too, those that parked around the Civic Center. Now it all makes sense, poor people can't even take care of themselves due to their handicappiness, how the hell do I expect them to take care of the city? Perhaps I've been too critical.

Most people that have handicap placards around here are fat asses on disability.

We're all equal, but some are more equal than others.

I read a book called Whats the Matter with California? and the author touched on one of the major issues in San Francisco.
Whenever you have a city full of smart, open minded people it is inevitable that eventually they will turn extremely closed-minded to anything that doesnt fit within their idea of nirvana. Theres actually a proper name for this phenomenon but I forget what he called it, and I gave the book to my uncle.

I DO agree that they are to lax when it comes to getting a damn handicap placard or plate.

What? Why the fuck do they get the benefit of free parking?
