Sucky for you. Reminds me of one time when this guy came to our house at 3am and said his car died and that he needed someone to give him a ride to the drug store to get medication for his son. He said he'll sign the deed to his car over to me and give me money back if I can spare him some money and a ride to the drug store and back. He said he was my neighbor around the corner. I shouldn't have even opened the door and I should've just told him that I'd call the police if he needed help. I just said I couldn't help him and went back to bed.

holy crap.... this scam is probably older than ... well dirt.

To quote the great Clint Eastwood in 'Two Mules for Sister Sara', everybody's got a right to be a sucker once.

I feel sorta bad too. I paid a homeless guy 60 dollars to mow my lawn. I went to shake his hand at the end and noticed track marks on his arm. I originally put $20 in the craigslist ad, but I thought I'd help him out because he was homeless. I kinda wondered why he would travel 20 miles just to mow my lawn.

how did a homeless guy have access to your craigslist ad?

I asked him, he said he hangs out at the Apple store.

Sorry to bump this, but this reminds me of when I went to Houston for a day.

Some guy was in front of the Jerusalem market area (those of you in SW houston probably know where it is) and he was asking for .85 cents so he can catch the bus. Everyone ignored him. He asked me and I said I didn't have any change. Then a guy walks up to the dude asking for .85 cents and gave him a dollar. As we were leaving, the guy was still asking for money. lol
