I don't know hwat your talking about...maybe it doesn't have quite the content of GT4 but it plays a hell of alot better than GT4.
I agree with the OP. The sense of speed is just not there, and the game does look kind of dated. The music is just horrendus, and the cars slide to easy even after you tune your car.
No matter what anyone thinks, the AI in this game is way better than GT4 and no one can deny it.
My biggest complaint so far is that you are getting new gift cars all the time so you never want to spend money upgrading it because you know a better car of the same class will be given to you which already has high stats out of the factory.
As for the people complaining about the physics, they are a step up above GT4 so if you don't like the way these cars handle, then I guess you just don't like reality. You can try turning off the traction control and the STM if you want to drift and burn out. I finally put a good 25k into a Lancer. That thing flys. I bet it will give me a Skyline next just because I spent all that money.

The popular science article seems to be a good voucher for the realism of the ability to be an accurate racing simulation. Finally we aren't forced into a Sony system for a really good all around racing sim type game.

I think some of your things may be very... debatable. I highly doubt IGN or gamespot or any of the big reviewers out there test these games on a 1990 Sony 27" TV with built in speakers. So far, the reviews about the sound and the graphics have been very positive. But we'll see...
the demo was alpha code before the game was pulled back and redone 8 months ago...
dont use the demo as a guideline in this case
i agree, but im one of the lucky ones that actually downloaded the game, and i'll say that IMO its not better then GT4 , but ... i can play it from my xbox HD and it didin't cost me a dime

and before you all start flaming me for piracy let me tell you that here in Portugal i can go to a blockbuster and rent pc games and PS2 games but noooooo xbox games, so i simple download then and if i like i buy then ( done it with Mortal Kombat, Matrix, and all the fifas plus PES4 ),
bur i've got to say that i owne more then 150 games and only 7 are originals ( just imagine the amount of money i saved from buiyng games that i'll only play about 10 minutes )

and one more thing --- the average pay in Portugal for an office job is about 700? a month ( +/- 800 dolars ) , wish may seem bad but our cost of living is also very lower, but games ( and dvd's ) ate taxed in all europe by the same , so a guy i Spain ( for example ) makes like 2000 a month and buy's a xbox game for 60 , in Portugal a guy makes 700 and also buy's the same game for 60 , THAT ISN´T FAIR !!!!!!!!!!!

Ps- i said in my first post that i wasn´t writting to be flaming, actually only this saturday i went to a local open air market, and there in public daylight there were for sale all the majors titles / movies and people were in line for about 1 hour to get copies of course , and whem i talked to the guy that was in bussiness , he told me that it was a weak sales day, that guys that actually profit from other guys work should be in jail ( well we actually have a law about copywrite, but no one seems to care )
If because i simple try out a game before buying it ( if it is worth it ) that makes me evil so be it
