I always end up in the emergency door. Flew 4x roundtrip this year so far and was always bumped to a Window seat on the emergency door.

Why? Because I speak English...lol.

FAA rules state that passengers must be over 15 to sit in an exit row. They must be both willing and physically able to open the exit door and assist in an evacuation. And they must be able to read the language of the instruction card, though the language on that card is nowhere specified as English.

It's a great upgrade from the ass class tickets I buy every single time. Flew First Class on American Airlines once, that was awesome.

Haven't flown first class internationally yet but I do have a business class trip to Paris (coming back via Copenhagen) coming up soon. Only downside is I scheduled myself to land early in the morning so I can't just drink the whole flight over and crash at the hotel. Damn me for wanting to be productive! (I'll have to limit myself to 3-5 drinks before I sleep on the flight.)

I thought I was getting bumped up to first class when security pulled me out of the line yesterday. The reason they did this was because they had 50 members of a family being checked in. They kept everybody waiting! I didn't even get 1st class. I was at the back of the plane and I had to endure a little boy who screamed every few hours. And he had a pair of lungs on him! :(

just so I can look at all the poor commoners in economy and wrinkle my nose richly at them

like they are all doing to me right now as I wait in this long line of the unwashed masses

My first wife & I got bumped to first class on our honeymoon from Bangkok to Singapore when some woman and her 8 yr old got different seats and the woman just decided to take our seats without checking with anyone...

It was very nice, glass of bubbles, big seats etc.....to think the woman and her kid could probably have gotten the 1st class seats if they had asked rather than taking ours was a good laugh!

Certainly wouldn't pay for a first class ticket though!

Growing up we had a customized gulfstream that my father used for business trips.
That was freaking awesome!! We did a lot of traveling cross country and once went to Tel Aviv!!
Then as the family got bigger dad ordered a customized 747 to take the whole family on trips.
Now that us kids are grown we are waiting on delivery of a customized 787 which will be the family jet mainly to travel to Europe!!

So, basically, you and your peasant family stay in the atmosphere on your trips . . . and never even break the sound barrier?

Pfffft! Space is the place, ace. :colbert:
