I've flown it a couple of times domestically when I was flying to and from my project in North Dakota and was on the company dime. Domestically it's not worth it, especially since I fly Delta mostly and board in Zone 1 when the plane is empty.

On a decent international flight (Europe, Asia, etc.) I'd consider it if the price wasn't ridiculous.

Do first class people also have to first strip physically and then be seen and photographed naked by the x ray machine?

Got a free upgrade from business class to 1st class on a flight from London to Phoenix a few years ago. Was pretty sweet!

95% of the time when I fly I am cramped in with all of the other dregs in coach. Obese women shouldn't wear yoga pants. Showering within 6 hours of your flight should be mandatory as well as using mouthwash or brushing your teeth.

just so I can look at all the poor commoners in economy and wrinkle my nose richly at them

like they are all doing to me right now as I wait in this long line of the unwashed masses

I've flown first class several times, always because of either loyalty upgrades or purchased upgrades at the gate. That's something a lot of people don't know, btw. If first class isn't full you can upgrade to it on the day of the flight for what is often a pretty reasonable price. I've upgraded for as little as $50, but it is usually like $125. For a long flight it's easily worth it, imo. The extra room makes a big difference, and there's nothing wrong with the slightly better refreshments and lower noise level.

Yes but they might get to cut in line to get molested before everyone else. You know...while the gloves are still clean

Get a free seat upgrade which shouldn't be hard if you fly a lot.

Then you can be a poor commoner in first class.

I got bumped into 1st class flying from Amsterdam to Vancouver. It was pure bliss compared to the cattle car I flew Vancouver to Amsterdam.

Are you flying Allegiant all the time or something? o_O

Flying out of country. Although you're right, I'm flying United into LV next month so I should sign up. Hell I could probably have my company pay for it too.

You can still use Precheck departing the US if you're on a US airline that has it. Also Global Entry FTW.

I love my Precheck since most of my flying is domestic. I average about 3 minutes from curb to club when flying out of SFO.

Did it on the way back from Cancun a few days ago. Considering I had slammed down a bunch of booze before I left the hotel, I didn't take advantage of the booze like I normally would have. Food was alright. Getting on/off first is always a plus, especially having to go through customs.

It's great in certain situations and longer flights.

I've been bumped up to the fake first class some airlines offer a couple of times. Last time I flew, I got a little extra leg room and my bag came off the plane first.

I did go first class by train when I went out east on a trip. You get your own private cabin, access to the lounge car, and priority access to the dining car. The food on board was surprisingly good.

this,

flew to Taiwan from the east coast 2 weeks ago for work, We automatically get to fly first/business if the flight is over 6 hours

i got 5000 bonus miles on my way over because i wanted the gingered pork for my meal and they were out, and i had to choose again.

The girlfriend and I flew 3 times in first class. Twice was because I used my sky miles and the other was a free upgrade due to an overbooked flight. It's nice but it's really just a bigger seat and free food/drinks. I don't think I would pay out of my pocket for it.
