Oh come on everyone knows that the bible is mostly metaphor anyways. Just put Leviticus 19:28 on the "do not observe" list, which is a list thats probably longer than you realize.

I think you posted this in the wrong forum. If you want actual advice, you need to go to P&N

Do you *READ* this board? How can you claim to be highly Christian and say you share opinions with most of this board?
I was sort of wondering the same thing. :p

Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Deuteronomy 14:9-10 says:
9 These ye shall eat of all that are in the waters: all that have fins and scales shall ye eat:
10 And whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye may not eat; it is unclean unto you.

I find this hilarous.

"Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD." - Leviticus 19:28

I am very Christian and don't want to be with someone who blatantly sins against God.

She told me that all sins are forgiven in death. Does this mean I can drink human blood and sacrifice kittens to the Lord? I don't think so.

Do you make sure all your shirts are 100% cotton or 100% wool?
Lev. 19:19 "Keep my decrees. Do not mate different kinds of animals. Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material"

Do you shave your beard?
Lev 19:27 "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard."

Basically my point is I doubt you pay attention to alot of things in the bible. So you shouldn't try and enforce only the few you pay attention to onto your girlfriend.

And for the person who mentioned the meat on Friday's thing, that's not actually in the Bible it was a Catholic church decree.

Hey, I like this.

Leviticus 11:6-8
6 The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a split hoof; it is unclean for you.
7 And the pig, though it has a split hoof completely divided, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you.
8 You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.

Leviticus 21:18-23

18 No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed;
19 no man with a crippled foot or hand,
20 or who is hunchbacked or dwarfed, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles.
21 No descendant of Aaron the priest who has any defect is to come near to present the offerings made to the LORD by fire. He has a defect; he must not come near to offer the food of his God.
22 He may eat the most holy food of his God, as well as the holy food;
23 yet because of his defect, he must not go near the curtain or approach the altar, and so desecrate my sanctuary. I am the LORD, who makes them holy.

Blind, crippled, broken hand, less than 20/20 vision, or just been kicked in the junk recently? HEATHEN! BURN IN HELL!

IMO if you are sleeping with her, you don't have a leg to stand on as far as the religious aspects of your argument go.

I don't know if you ARE, but if you ARE then you can't just pick and choose WHAT aspects of your religion you want to follow and what you find offensive.

If you really were "very christian" you would know that the rules of the Old Testament stopped being rules when Christ died on the cross. You'd also know the whole "splinter out of your own eye" before pointing fingers.

You don't have a choice but to let her do what she wants. You take care of yourself and let her worry about herself. If something as trivial as a tattoo (yes, it IS TRIVIAL) has got you in a tizzy fit, screw your head back on straight.

The fact that she doesn't know WHY she wants a tattoo makes it sound like she's just trying be "cool" though. That's a very stupid reason for getting one, IMO.

That's why everyone gets one...trying to be trendy.

Verse 9: "When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest."

Verse 19: "Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material."

Verse 26: "Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it."

Verse 27: "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard."

Verse 28: "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord."

How many of those do you follow? In either case I hope you don't follow the Bible literaly...

Yeah, but he's gotten enough of a rise out of people that they'll just troll him back and post Biblical based horseshit in all of his threads now until he leaves. :D
