My girlfriend used me as a personal reference - should I say I'm her boyfriend?

So my girlfriend used me as a personal reference, which I'm perfectly cool with (there were lots of other references, including professional ones). The guy is calling soon, and I'm wondering if saying I'm her boyfriend would ruin the reference in some way. What should I tell the interviewer?

You know her personally, therefore you qualify as a personal reference. I don't see what the problem is, if they ask how you know her you tell them.

When the interviewer asks what your relationship is with her, say "I'm the daddio that delivers her deep dickin' ".

If they ask what your relation to her is, answer truthfully, like you should with any question they ask. If they don't ask, there is no reason to bring it up.

Is this just a thread to brag you have a gf? Cause if you're dumb enough to mess up the reference you may be without said gf here shortly.

LOL @ Naked Frog. I'll have to remember that one!

Her references list should say what she wants you to say. If it says you're her former boss, then that's what you say. If it says you're a boyfriend, then say that. If it just says character witness, I would probably say I'm a friend.

In the end I just told them the truth when they asked, and the interviewer said it wasn't a big deal (or detrimental to the reference), for future reference.

How old are you guys? How little experience (professionally and socially) would a person need to have to even consider putting down a S.O. as a reference?

Tell him you're her professional pizza delivery man, and that you put the pepperoni in her pie!

Or, don't volunteer any info but answer any question truthfully.

Wow, 20 replies and only one person is asking for pics of girlfriend/right hand.

This "thread" does not deliver. 🙄
